We’re Arsenal fans here, so putting up this Nike video (even with two our best players due to leave) was a prerequisite. Now we can only hope that we can look as good over a season as we do in a three minute video.

selectism - Arsenal 2011/2012 Away Kit by Nike

Celebrating 125 years, club tradition is evident in Arsenal’s 2011/2012 away kit. The front of the shirt is divided into two halves, navy blue and turquoise blue, inspired by past away uniforms. The kit features the same bespoke crest (marking the anniversary year) as the home shirt, and with the addition of a diagonal line of the shirt front – reference to Dial Square Sundial at the Arsenal munitions factory in Woolwich, where the Club was conceived in 1886 – there’s ample heritage packed in the top. With celebratory tone, the kit also looks forward… Arsenal’s 2011/2012 away kit continuing Nike’s push for the most environmentally-friendly athletic apparel.

More images of what the Gunners will be wearing away from Emirates this season after the jump.

Selectism - arsenal-kit-04

Arsenal just unveiled their newest kit and, seeing as two out of three SL members are Gooners, we had to report this. It’s the 125th anniversary and Arsenal have celebrated the only way football teams know how, by making a new kit. It’s a great kit, if we say so ourselves and you’ll just have to take a leap to see it.

selectism - Arsenal 2010/11 Home Kit by Nike

Ever wonder where our allegiance lies? Let us be blunt.*

The new 2010/11 home kit for the greatest football club on earth, Arsenal, hit shops today. It features a block red body, white round collar and white sleeves. Essentially, the shirt returns to the 1970s style of direct red and white contrast. While other clubs have employed useless and non-traditional shirt unveiling this Summer – we’re looking at you, Man City -  our club does a launch with typical class (i.e. quietly and without Craig Bellamy).

Sadly, we are not so chuffed about the new goalkeeper shirt. However, you can still check it after the jump.

*Well, 2 out of 3. Jeff has a misguided affair with Chelsea going.

The Redevelopment of Highbury

curated mag - The Redevelopment of Highbury

Today, Arsene Wenger will officially opening Highbury Square. A residential development on the grounds of Arsenal’s former stadium, the project has taken careful consideration in preserving the spaces past and incorporating elements of its sporting heritage. Some parts, like the exterior of the East Stand (above) are listed. Other decisions were made simply to keep the legacy of Arsenal alive in the new configuration. (via Curated).

selectism - Saville Rogue Football Scarves

With the Premiership season kicking off a new campaign tomorrow, it’s time to take a hard look at your team colors. Still wearing that static magnet of a polyester scarf? Do what our friend Fats has done and move to one of these "cool and expensive" cashmere pieces from Savile Rogue. In all team colors, from the good (Arsenal) to the bad (Chelsea) Rogue scarves are great from the terraces to the high street and beyond.
