Selectism - Aston Martin One-77 Custom Automobile

Coming later this year is the Aston Martin One-77 automobile. As Luxist describes it “the new One-77 model … will feature a hand-built 7.0-liter V12 engine, an aluminum and carbon fiber chassis, a top speed of 200+ mph, and a 0-60mph time of about 3.5 secs.” More importantly only 77 One-77’s will be made in production; each to be customized but the individual buyer. At 1.8 million $US, we would hope we could at least choose one cupholder over two.

Selectism - Ferrari "One Off" Custom Buids

Eurocarblog reports in on Ferrari’s "One Off" Project. "The Ferrari “one-off” project has been revisited – a project that creates real and unique models. We had already seen that Ferrari was interested in launching new projects with the best international automobile signatures, and this news confirms the rumours… Chassis, engine and airbag will have to remain the same, while the rest can be exclusively designed and created, and all the materials will be delivered to the customer. No SUVs, station wagons or sedans are the only requests from the company"

BMW’s Hydrogen Powered 7 Series

Selectism - BMW's Hydrogen Powered 7 Series

Holy smokes! A BMW that cleans the air while it drives. Revolutionary? Hells yes. The 7-series hydrogen powered vehicle was unveiled in Detroit last month and has green lovers smiling. As Inhabitant reports, "BMW’s carbon cutting sedan features a six-liter hydrogen combustion engine that delivers performance on par with its gas-guzzling counterpart. The vehicle takes a step beyond BMW’s efforts to create a hydrogen/gasoline hybrid with astonishing results: tests conducted by Argonne Laboratories show that the car’s emissions are so low that they are undetectable by standard emissions tests."

Though their are currently no plans for production, one can only expect that this is a major move in the right direction for BMW.

The New Ferrari California GT

Selectism - The New Ferrari California GT

Though the Telegraph UK may have the English prose on the new Ferrari California launch last week, we can turn to Openers for some more exclusive photos of this V8 beast. From the Telegraph: For the first time in a Ferrari, there will be no manual gearbox option and power will be 30bhp down on the entry-level F430. Engine revs are lower and torque is slightly increased, all signs that this car is much more of a luxurious tourer than a hardcore sports car. "It’s not a screamer," said a Ferrari spokesman this week. "It’s not track-based and it’s not about out-and-out power; it’s more driveable." The naturally aspirated 4,300cc V8 will be matched to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for a smoother drive. The 0-62mph sprint will take less than four seconds and carbon dioxide emissions will be about 310g/km.  The Ferrari California is set to launch at the Paris Auto Show in October.

Selectism - Bugatti Veyron Fbg for Hermes

We’ve been waiting for good photos of the interior of this soon to be legend of a vehicle. Take the world’s street legal car, add in some of touches of Hermes and you have arguably a new top teir in automotive luxury.

As noted in their press release, the Bugatti “Fbg par Hermes” is “the culmination of… extreme attention to aesthetic and technological quality and performance.”

The complexity and detail of this offering is a laundry list long, but for starters, note the door handles which are based on the forms of Hermes’ trunk handles and the dash which is usually adorned in brushed metal is lined entirely in calf skin. Looking on the outside, the air vents around the rims have the characteristic appearance of Hermes saddle-stitching.

Many more views after the jump.
