b mag aw11 01 b Magazine Autumn Winter 2011 Issue

b magazine returns for Autumn Winter 2011 with the “PUSH IT REAL GOOD” issue. Much is changing at b-store with a move from tailoring haven Savile Row to Carnaby adjacent Kingly Street. In addition, the store is set to celebrate ten years in the game so there’s a fair bit of reflection going on.

This issue sees chit-chat and contributions from the likes of pr queen Mandi Lennard, photographer James Pearson-Howes, furniture designer Martino Gamper and accessory maestro Ally Capellino. Expect spring ,summer previews, talk from top London chefs and the usual high quality editorials.

b Store Brentwood Blazer

b Store Brentwood Blazer

The b store Brentwood blazer gets a makeover with this grey wool ’salt and pepper’ blend. Shorter in the body and slim fit it features notched lapels, three front pockets and contrast white buttons. These guys really know how to create something casual but with a nod to tailoring, in terms of creating modern, accessible menswear it’s hard to argue with their consistency over the past few years. -ld

Selectism - b-store-liberty-shirt-01

Here’s the sort of shirt we’d wear to a gig, a Talking Heads one specifically. We bring this up because (a) we’re on the lookout for shirts that are suitable gig attire and (b) we’re listening to the Talking Heads as we type. ‘Girlfriend is better’ since you asked. (B Store)

B Store ‘Beat’ Biker Jacket

Selectism - b-store-beat-biker-jacket-01

Sometimes when we see a product with a name we wonder exactly what they’re named after. For this jacket we have two theories; the first is that it’s named after the film ‘beat street’ (although we don’t know why they didn’t just call it beat street instead of just beat). The second theory is that it’s named after the beat generation. While we’d like it to be the first option, we believe it’s probably the second*. (B Store)

B Store ‘Bobby’ Shirt

Selectism - b-store-pinstripe-shirt-01

We treat style rules like we treat any other ancient text. We listen, sure, but when push comes to shove we trust our own instinct over something that was initially said just to keep people in line. For instance, one rule is never mix checks and stripes – good enough rule, except when checks and stripes look good next to each other like they do on this shirt. (B Store)

b Store changes directions in their outerwear game slightly with Spring 2012. Gloverall comes into the picture after a few seasons of work with Baracuta. Three coats look to take the reigns, including the toggle number above in green. Much more to see in our gallery. As shown at SEEK, Berlin.

SEEK | b Store, Liberty London Collection Spring/Summer 2012

More from last week’s Berlin Fashion Week. We showcase the forthcoming b Store, Liberty Spring/Summer 2012 collection. The archived is worked again for some new fantastic flavors in floral prints. The sea foam greens on the garments take on an almost washed look (as seen above). Highlights include applications on the collars and full t-shirts. Well done. As seen at SEEK, Berlin.

b Magazine Spring/Summer 2011 Issue

In-house magazine are keeping print alive. They, of course, offer the reader a strong extension of a shop or brand’s internal thinking and visions. The latest for Spring/Summer 2011 comes in the form of b Magazine. Started back in 2009 as a bi-annual publication from b store, it continues to be worth a read. “Editor, Dal Chodha, exposes the wider b store ethos: passion in design, integrity in individuality and a nod to more sartorial affairs and acts as an outlet for the brand’s appreciation of the arts.” Look for the new issue June 8.
