There’s been a growing demand for classic styles of bags and accessories, with steel framed holdalls and schoolboy satchels making a comeback in menswear. So it’s only natural that a brand like Brady, an English brand which started in the 1870’s, would catch on and develop an online site. I just so happened that the first time I met Coleman Horn I was wearing a pair of MEDIUM boots, a line he co-founded a few years back. When Frank told me that Coleman was working on a new line called, Vael Project, I was even more excited. Thing is, I am fascinated by Mr. Horn’s ability to make footwear that I simply dig immediately. 

For Holiday 2008, Vael Project takes it one step further with a great collection of accessories including three bags – a killer Rucksack, Tote and Messenger. All three a simply well designed from premium leather and canvas. My favorite has to be the Rucksack; a bag which furthers Mr. Horn’s idea of being mobile and ready to go. Firmy based in Danish deisgn, Denmark’s Mismo continues to refine the idea of daybags as “personal companions.” By using natural materials and keeping the details to a minimum, Mismo’s offering looks to become a part of your day to day – classic functional bags with durable construction.

The Tate online site has been a haven for bargain hunters and this looks set to continue, with designers like Ally Capellino collaborating with the gallery. Capellino’s collaboration with the Tate includes several bags, from totes to messengers, key fobs and even an apron.
