Bally “Comi” Brogue Shoe

16 February 2012, 22.00 | Posted in Shoes | No comments »

bally 1 Bally Comi Brogue Shoe
Another day, another brogue. But wait, this “Comi” brogue from Bally Switzerland’s Commodore Collection has a lightweight rubber outsole made using the Goodyear welt process, and comes with the promise of enhanced durability and breath-ability, making for a truly all-season piece of footwear (not unlike a certain tire). The detailing is spot-on and we would be psyched indeed to run all over town on these soles.

Bally Spring/Summer 2012 – Lookbook

bally ss12 01 Bally Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook

We have a look at some Bally offerings for Spring Summer 2012. A top notch collection, Bally really has a knack of making something special out of casualwear. Throwing in smarter pieces here and there, everything looks, well,  we’re hesitant to use the word ‘luxurious’ but that’s exactly what they managed to achieve.

The wider leg trousers are a bit of a hit as is their retrained use of colour. The label continues to bring out the leather and suede, as accessory experts first and foremost they know how to use hides to great effect. A job well done. (emm)

Selectism - Bally-spring-2012-shoes-01

When they’re not busy being namechecked by every rapper you can think of, Bally are making the kind of shoes you, us and everyone you know want a piece of. We’re not sure if rappers want the shoes, but if they’ve got an iota of taste, they should get on board. Hopefully Rick Ross will make a song about them. Judging from ‘Reebok Back’, he’ll rap about anything if the price is right.

For the record, the model above is the Scribe Legère.

Selectism - csm-bally-autumn-2010-03

For the second time Bally have teamed up with CSM to collaborate with some of their students for a capsule collection. Last year it was womenswear, this year is an all mens affair. Designed by student Craig Green, the four piece collection puts some interesting twists on well established menswear staples. Purists should probably look away now, but anyone who can appreciate something new should like this.
