Givenchy had their Rotweiler. Balmain for Autumn 2011 brings us a wolf in a psychedelic montage of fury. Restir is moving bundles on this one. Who the hell does not need a wolf in their life? Couple notes to those who will certainly feed our comments with links to varying alternative options to the wolf: the Balmain t-shirt blank itself is produced in Italy and is a true cut/sew gem for guys that refuse to wear the American/Alternative Apparel variants. The fit for a white t-shirt is about as good as it gets. Ozzy approved.

Selectism favorite, Balmain, has launched a new fragrance for men. “A modern and luminous fragrance, both spicy and woody, Carbone de Balmain is an enduring scent, worked around the black fig that is tinted with dark and sensual accents. A fragrance dedicated to a modern and urban man who has a passion for new technologies, performance, resistance and lightness.”

Balmain continues to be one of the strongest men’s collections on the market. Fashonisto gives us their take: “Balmain creative director Christophe Decarnin manages to pull together an effortless array of garments that make dressing easy and stylish. From scarves and button-downs to plain tees or denim, the Balmain man tones it down for the fall season, but comes out on top with rich outerwear, ranging from the peacoat to the duffel.” This is casual at its best. Balmain delivers their Ranger boot in some new leather. While usually done in patent leather, this is the first time the Ranger is offered in calfskin. Still some good shine on that leather, especially on the laces. Balmain remains one of the strongest menswear collections out there. Riccardi has them.

“Scaly” may best describe this crocodile leather on this black belt from Balmain. While I cannot wear an animal skin of this sorts, it is a beautiful accessory for the gentleman who can pull it off. Restir has them.

Balmain can do no wrong, it would seem. The “distressed” leather flight jacket has a slight worn in look that complements the thick wool (has to be shearling) that will keep you warm while you bomb over the denizens of your local niteclub this autumn. Go get what you deserve. Restir has them.

Balmian presents some low fi looks at their forthcoming Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. We’re sure that the higher res will pop online soon after this. At that point, we’ll be refiling this piece with some better imagery. Seeing as the line is completely killing it globally. A quick sampling of the Spring collection at Riccardi Boston shows that most of the men’s goods are gone while the women’s line is still in supply. Autumn/Winter should not slow them down one bit.
