As part of our ongoing second look series, we caught up with Scott Sternberg. Instead of asking him about Pitti, we thought we’d step to the left of the box and ask him about Band’s growing shoe collection.

In a move sure to delight fans and anger detractors, Band of Outsiders have been named as the next guest designer for Pitti 80. Given the film-based background of the brand (and all the actors they have involved) we’re interested to see what they’ll do. They’ll be doing it alongside Rodarte, who’ve taken the menswear world by storm one faux moth hole at a time. (Fashionista)

This smooth, washed leather bomber from the Band of Outsiders collection will surely work for most. The fitting is proper – as usual from Band of Outsiders. Nothing over bulky on this piece. Wear is like it is meant to be worn. Aloha Rag has them.

Band of Outsiders presents their Autumn 2011 runway show from New York City.

For the first time Scott Sternberg showcased his Band of Outsiders collection for Autumn/Winter 2011 on the runway, during New York Fashion Week. The LA designer continues to present his smart schoolboy look. He was inspired by 70s hiking for the coming season and smartly mixes that with his signature look. Fur jackets and accessories certainly stand out and the footwear was once again provided from the Band of Outsiders for Sperry Top-Sider Collection, which featured an interesting mid cut boot this time around.

BoO (their rather unappetising shortened name) started their own line footwear collection last season and guess what? It’s on sale. Which means it’s time to buy a pair, as opposed to just tumblr’ing pictures of them. We recommend these. (Forward)

While not officially named “Sasquatch,” these Sperry for Band of Outsiders chukkas were samples from the current Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. These are one of two sample pairs produced – how they ended up in Berlin will remain a trade secret. Unfortunately, they’ll never see the light of day – so they say.

We’ve unknowingly become obsessed with olive jackets lately. We don’t know when it’s happened, but it has and now we’re posting up another one to sate our appetite. We realise that there’s a bit of a backlash against Band of Outsiders amongst the US blogger set, but we still like them and jacket’s like this are the reason why. (The Corner)

Damn, sweatpants may not get better than these Italian made ones from Band of Outsiders. Made from a 80/20 virgin wool/nylon mix, they feature a detailed drawstring closure and padded knee pads which probably keep your knees a bit warmer than without the pads. Well done and beautiful. Fwdfwd has them.
