Barbour takes their International jackets very seriously. They iconic Barbour jacket has been a favorite of motorcycle riders and non-riders alike for generations; the cut of the International on women is a wonderful and noteworthy look.

For Spring/Summer 2012, the Barbour International Collection embraces the sport of motorcross not only in their campaign but in the wide array of bright and bold colors available in the series. The A7 International gets a fresh update in strong greens and blues, as seen above.  The move to new colors in the Barbour International are a welcomed addition to Barbour’s long history.

Here is a preview look at the forthcoming Barbour collection for Autumn Winter 2012. The highlight is the Steve McQueen jacket patterened after the one the actor wore in 1964. A strong look. Much more in the video.

New Jersey’s Two Inch Cuffs have got together with East London store Number Six to create  this smart lookbook. Envisioned as the coming together of ‘British style and functional American sensibility’, we’d quite happily see it described as the reverse as well. With all the cross-pollination, collaborations, mutual admiration and various other words ending in ‘tion’, it’s just one big menswear world these days, all of us spinning around in a haze of togetherness and fancy shoes. The usual style suspects, McNairy, Garbstore, Barbour, Sanders, et al make an appearance in this well put together project.

Here’s another round from the Barbour collaboration with the Rockport line. Boots and shoes make it special again for Holiday 2011. The mix, of course, takes Barbour fabrics and wraps them around the Rockport silhouettes. Three new styles make the collection: Breaktrail Cap Toe, Day to Night Buckle Hi Boot and the Day to Night Wingtip. Check them out.

Hot on the heels of their work with Grenson, Barbour are doing another collaboration. Barbour need to be careful or they’ll get a reputation. This R. Newbold collab is made up of three pieces (a shirt, gilet and jacket) transferring R. Newbold’s love for polka dots onto the traditionalism of Barbour. The end result is blogtastical. The collection will be available at selected cool guy stores and at Paul Smith’s online site.

We’ll tell you that Grenson is still very much an in-house favorite, as is Barbour. Sure, the world (including us) have pushed and hyped both brands well beyond either company’s idea of placement, but do the two work together well? Do Barbour textiles work against the Grenson brogue? We think so. The thick welted brogue works. Three other styles from this small collection including a derby boot and wingtip shoe are coming soon.
