This is first time we have covered the Bblessing Autumn 2010 offering. Our earlier post were some street shots but they get serious with 27 year old photographer Sean Donnola for the official lookbook. “Highlights of the season include double-knit cashmere blend sweaters… grosgrained-trimmed blazers in a variety of fabrics” as well as the relaunch of their denim line.

Derrick Cruz of Black Sheep & Prodigal Sons worked with the minds behind Bblessing on a set of lapel pins that take inspiration from a time long ago. “Each pin has a symbol on it that represents the original seven planets from the Ptolemaic worldview [which include the Sun and the Moon].” The lapels are finished in bronze for that authentic age.

BBlessing sends over some on the street looks from their Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. Though shot in the rough, the photos lay our a clear look at what you’ll be seeing in stores towards the latter end of the Summer. Their “Plaid Standard” as well as black and red madras get worked over on trousers, shirts, and norfolk jackets. The red and plaids stand out well in the collection – both of which may give the hesitant male a chance to dip his toes in the non-solid world. While we’re on them, we’re told that there are some subtle hints of “occult influence” in the collection though we’ll need to wait for individual style looks to examine that aspect.

BBlessing is preparing a collection of t-shirts as part of their Spring/Summer 2010 collection that pay tribute to the 6th and final season of the “LOST” television series. The t-shirts, designed by Nicholas Kratochvil, will hit stores when “LOST” comes back on the air next week. Each of the seven t-shirts pulls from the show’s story, including “‘Another Life’ – Inspired by Desmond’s line ‘See you in another life, brother’” and “‘Good Vibrations’ – This Beach Boys song is the code that Charlie has to put into the Looking Glass station computer to make contact with Penny.  It’s also the last song he hears before he is grenaded by a kamikaze Russian cyclops and drowns.”

There’s some pieces that are unavoidably smart. Sure, you can dress them down, but they’ll still be a smart piece. Overcoats are one such piece. So embrace the smartness and get a camel ‘joint’. BBlessing will be dropping two gentleman friendly laptop bags for Autumn/Winter 2009. The slim form leather bags allow for you to drop your laptops into a suede lines interior pocket with just enough room for some paperwork or maybe a map. They will be available in two colors – black or brown – keeping them simple clean, and functional.

The BBlessing Spring collection pulls influence from the mysteries of the forests. “For their spring collection, BBlessing was inspired by the story of DB Cooper, his tales of hijacking, and his mysterious disappearance over the forests of western Washington. The collection takes into account what is known and makes inferences into what could have happened. This makes for a noble exploration of adventure and aviation related silhouttes and shapes.” (Fashionisto)

Men.style comes through with the word on select Japan only pieces from the Obedient Sons line making its way to US shores via NYC’s BBlessing. Economics may be playing it’s game on this one but you’ll be able to score these Japan exclusive pieces for a fairly reduced rate. As Men.style describes the Japan looks, “Think snug but beautiful suiting that tends toward the smoking-jacket sort. There are, however, those pieces that we imagine make more sense in Japan, like suit pants gathered at the ankles with thick, sweatsuit-like elastics. One interesting pull from the BBlessing Autumn/Winter 2008 collection is this Indigo Quilted Denim Jacket. The jacket has a wonderul outer sheen and normal waistline which fits and complements the figure well. The quilted internal liner will keep you fuzzy warm in the cold as well. One note, the jacket is made from indigo so expect just a tinge of run off. Either way, it will break in and look great with years of wear. Yours now from BBlessing.
