Beams Plus Fleece Cardigan

11 October 2011, 17.30 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

Selectism - beams-plus-shawl-cardigan-01

We can’t believe we’re doing this but here goes – here’s a fleece cardigan that someone, somewhere might like. There, we said it. We thought it was an oxymoron but here are we, talking in positive terms about fleece. On the plus side *whisper it* it is rather comfortable. So all we were really waiting for was for someone to design some good looking in the material. Wear these with sweatpants for a true ‘these weren’t stylish a year ago’ look. (Present)

Selectism - beams-plus-m51-jacket-01

Beams Plus just landed in Tres Bien and here’s our pick of the bunch. We all know about the M51 at this point, but if you’ve got an aversion to a vintage one, this Beams one should do the trick. It’s got that sweet, techy stuff that everyone adores including a removable lining that uses polartec – which, apparently, will keep you warm. You could wear them on their own as well, but the overall ugliness of the lining should prevent anyone from doing that. (Tres Bien)

Briefing for BEAMS+ Military Green Series Bags

briefing beamsplus bags 00 Briefing for BEAMS+ Military Green Series Bags

Following up on a successful first run of bags with Briefing, BEAMS+ comes back with a new military green series of collaborative day bags and briefs. The previous collection which celebrated BEAMS+ 10th anniversary sold out quickly. We can only expect the same from this collection. Our favorite, the 3 Way Bag, which converts between brief, shoulder, and backpack is made from high grade fabrics which are military spec’d to protect the finer instruments of combat. We assume this means we can leave our sunglasses and cameras in those front enclosures without too much worry.

beams BEAMS+ Japan Lands in Italy

In what could quite possibly be the dream retailer news of the year, supernews is reporting that WP Lavori in Corso flagships in Florence and Milan will open corners of their store dedicated to the Japan’s BEAMS+ line. This is the first export of the BEAMS family that we know of outside of Japan. This is news that BEAM fans globally have been waiting to hear for some time. We pray that their Italian outing leads to success and future endeavors on other shores.

With winter comes tweed, something we are always looking forward to. Beams Plus presents two superb Harris Tweed blazers this season in grey and brown. The brown blazer is very classic, featuring leather buttons and leather patches on the elbows. The grey blazer is definitely a bit more subtle, not featuring these leather details. Depending on the outfit, both can work well.

Take a more detailed look at the Beams Plus Harris Tweed Blazers after the jump.

alden beams plus 6inch boots Alden For Beams+ 6inch BootsWhen talking about a 6inch boot, most people think right away about Timberland. As much as we appreciate the Timberland 6inch boot, we prefer what Alden created for Japanese retailer Beams+. The Alden 6inch boot comes in a nice light brown and in black leather with a nice leather/gum outer sole. The construction of Alden on a nice and functional winter boot is perfect for the colder months of the year.

selectism - Beams+ Vests

Japanese retailer Beams+ has introduced this week some quality vests under their in-house label. In winter time there is nothing nicer than upgrading an outfit with anice vest. Beams+ managed to present a solid line-up, going from plaid to corduroy to Harris Tweed, the classics are all in there.

If you are in a more casual mood, you go for the plaid vest with zipper, if you are looking for a nice evening outfit, we suggest the Harris Tweed variation with buttons.

Have a look at the complete line-up after the jump.

highsnobiety - Beams+ Chambray Work Shirt

Beams+ is part of the Japanese retailer Beams, and operates under the "American Life Shop" slogan. The shop brings American brands with heritage to Japan and presents every once in a while interesting collaborations with such brands and produces as well their own goods.

This weekend Beams+ released their own branded "Chambray Work Shirts". They present the classic shirts in two colorways and as usual every detail is just right. From the bottons to the pockets, we have nothing to complain. Just a great shirt that will never go out of style.
