Bell & Ross and Harley-Davidson Racing Motorcycle

An interesting pairing between Bell & Ross and iconic motorcycle maker, Harley-Davidson. UK dealer Shaw Harley-Davidson approached Bell & Ross regarding the bike design which was “inspired” by the watchmaker’s vision on “performance, precision and engineering.” Using the Harley-Davidson FXSTB Softail Nightrain base, they worked together in developing a housing for the Bell & Ross BR 01-92 Carbon watch. “The watch mounting positioned the timepiece in an ideal place for its primary function as a professional tool for the rider.”

The collaborative Harley-Davidson is tour in the U.S.A. beginning tomorrow. Look for the motorcycles in September 29th in Newport Beach, California, October 14th in Denver, Colorado and October 21st in Nashville, Tennessee.

Selectism - Wallpaper*, J. Ellery Collaboration Bell & Ross Watch

Wallpaper* has received some great press on their August “Handmade Edition” issue. In conjunction with the issue drop, the magazine worked with Brown’s founder, Jonathan Ellery and watchmaker, Bell & Ross on a limited edition timepiece.

“A conceptual spinning sculpture on the wrist” is how Ellery describes the watch. Telling the time requires mastering of its rotational rhythms, the explosive “big bang” motif comes together only twice in 24 hours as the circles rotate. This piece is based on the BR01-92 Radar model.

Selectism - Bell & Ross Limited Edition BR03-92 Instrument Phantom Infiniti Watch

While some other watch companies are taking their big sellers and working them over for every color and holiday available, Bell & Ross takes a more subtle approach to their collaborative works. Example: this special edition BR03-02 Instrument Phantom. “The special edition BR03-92 Instrument Phantom has been designed by Bell & Ross to commemorate the recently revealed Infiniti FX Limited Edition performance crossover, restricted, just like the watches, to only 100 individually-numbered examples worldwide. However, such has been the extensive demand prior to the release of the watch, that only a handful remain.”

This model is exclusive to Infiniti dealers in Europe. Collectors would be wise to start calling now.

Timezone brings news of an early announcement from Bell & Ross. At the Geneva Motor Show next month, Bell & Ross will launch their latest concept dashboard/wristwatch for the Peugeot SR1 concept car.

“The timepiece designed by Bell & Ross offers an innovative integration concept and features a unique style and materials. The watch and its band fit neatly into the dashboard to become a temporary on-board timepiece. Easily removable, the instrument immediately turns back into a wristwatch. On the futuristic dashboard of the Peugeot, the Bell & Ross watch, the only analogue instrument, immediately catches the driver’s eye. It easily fits into a special slot on the dashboard. The watch case is cut from a block of steel and holds a three-dimensional face.” An interesting concept indeed.

Bell & Ross BR 01 94 Pro Titanium Watch

Selectism - Bell & Ross BR 01 94 Pro Titanium Watch

Bell & Ross continues to push the BR-01 model with a take in titanium. “The Pro Titanium was the first watch to be fitted with the dark grey BR rubber strap that is now used for the special edition Commando models. The strap is meant to match the dark grey, metallic colour of the watch’s dial. This brings us to Bell & Ross’ third principle of design. As bold as the hour markers and hands are on the other BR Instruments, the ones on the Pro Titanium are the boldest. They are wide and large and have a healthy dose of SuperLuminova photo-luminescent paint applied to them.” (mattbaily)

Bell & Ross Commando Collection Watches

br commando series watches 00 Bell & Ross Commando Collection Watches

With an almost endless array of color options for their BR series, Bell & Ross issued their Commando Collection recently. It may be the first Bell & Ross I consider for purchase. The grey carbon finish on the BR-01-96 and BR-01-07 matches well against a commando swat black attack uniform, as well as just about any other color. Neutral grey is it. You get the usual BR goodness from these models as well – 46mm casing, rubber straps, and a genuinely unique look to bear. (timezone)
