A bunch of belts from Estribos for those looking for sprite up your look this spring. “Estribos belts are based on a traditional native pattern known as Guarda Pampas, which is inspired by the peaks and troughs of the Andes Mountains.” They look good and features some excellent leather work. Our good friends at 3sixteen have released three new belt looks for SS2012. These heavyweight 13oz leather belts are made in the Portland, OR USA by Tanner Goods and feature nicke buckles, heavy stitching and beveled edges. Expect them to break in beautifully. Find them online now.

We give love to Louis Vuitton for their latest film short. “A Notch on Louis Vuitton’s Belt” plays out like the opening credit work of Saul Bass. Much respect to Louis Vuitton in going the full on undercover spy thriller route while putting focus on their belt line. I for one will remember them. Jo Ratcliffe animated the short.

We like this belt from Folk, too. Its light complexion means it might only see summer sun, but at least, as a belt, it would know its purpose and find satisfaction in that during the long winter. But the Buckley is a sturdy looking thing.

Made in England from elasticated Italian fabric and vegetable-tanned leather, it holds a brass buckle and has the word Folk embossed on the middle buckle hole. Available over at Boylston Trading Co.

These great belts from Unis come about by way of a collaboration with Florida’s MAKR and are crafted from leather pulled from vintage bags and aged brass hardware.

We are funny with belts: when we find one we like—especially a somewhat rugged one like this—it will stay in the loops of our favorite jeans for months on end. But when we switch do a different pair of pants, the belt can be all but forgotten and forced to languish in the dark recesses of a dresser drawer. Will this belt end the cycle of madness? Dunno. Caputo & Co. offer a selection of men’s bags and accessories that fit into almost any outfit. While I still firmly believe that the only wrist adornment a man needs is a wristwatch, there is space for those that prefer to drop a bracelet here and there. Forget the fish hook for a while. Everyone’s on that (then again they are also on the braided knot ropes as well). Caputo & Co. offer wovens and knots on arm bands, belts, and more. As we mentioned yesterday, n.d.c. is a Belgian company that produces some handsome handmade shoes for lads and lasses. What we left out is that they also make belts, bags and keyrings. Don’t think we’ve turned many cartwheels over the latter item, but belts and bags sure are fun. These bags look sharp, sturdy and almost freakishly soft—prefect pillows for airport terminals, perhaps. The belts seem to be everything a belt should be: not too thick, not too skinny; a little worn in and rustic without looking dead.

Since we’re here again, it seems prudent to mention that, along with keeping a sense of humor about their endeavors, n.d.c. has pledged to eschew trends and hew to individuality. Hard to exact concrete evidence of that from a single lookbook, but the big suede duffels do carry the air of an intriguing stranger working the fringes of a cocktail party. Also alluring, n.d.c. have proprietary concoctions of natural waxes and oils used for finishing. Flagship stores are in Brussels and Paris if you want to check the softness for yourself. -jt

Seriously, someone do a belt collaboration with The Hart Foundation. How has this not happened yet? Bypass all wrestling promotions and go straight into Canada and get this done.

Por Vocacao carries a grip of them: three colorways and “variation on the surcingle belt, with leather trims on both ends, golden metal buckle and a mixed body of leather on the inside and cotton canvas on the outside.”

We’d never use this site to gift-hint to loved ones. Never. Seriously, we wouldn’t. But if we were lucky enough to receive this from someone who recently emailed to ask what we wanted then we’d be both surprised and very happy. Based in the U.S  they use the finest English Bridle leather for their incredible goods.
