Quality New England boot work meets Seattle’s finest shop. “Designed by Blackbird in collaboration with Alden of New England, makers of custom boots since 1884. The Christopherson’s Creamery Milkman Boot was inspired by the shiny simple uniform boots that so many delivery drivers wore back in day when milk and groceries were delivered. Christopherson’s Creamery was a local Ballard dairy shop on Market Street, just around the corner from where Blackbird is today. We’re expecting to see this become your favorite boot – the one that you’ll wear with everything, doing anything for the next 20 to 50 years.”

Blackbird has a nice selection of handmade stockings from that Portland, Maine outfit called Rogues Gallery. They’re 90$US per stocking and in order to choose your sock of choice you’ll need to hit up the Blackbird site to see what they have remaining. Remember they’re handmade so no sock is like the other – these do not come in pairs.

Blackbird continue their expansion with this pair of jeans, named the ‘Sunset Hotel Jean’. Named after the former residents of Blackbird’s Ballard location, the actual Sunset Hotel used to house sailors, heroin addicts and prostitutes. The jeans themselves are understated, with no detailing bar some rivets to speak of. They’re slim cut and use denim from North Carolina. Get them, obviously, from Blackbird.

Because in this economy retail needs all the revenue it can find, Blackbird has launched its long anticipated online shop. The Seattle store carries goods from the likes of Acne, Tim Hamilton, and Band of Outsiders. Giving all of you another avenue to find all your favorite labels.

Seattle boutique, Blackbird, has teamed up with Los Angeles-based shoemaker George Esquivel to create custom footwear for their store. There is such a huge appreciation for raw materials in the marketplace today and the folks at Blackbird thought that could extend to our feet. They worked with Esquivel to create a boot and hobo shoe made from completely natural, untanned leather. As with all Esquivel’s shoes, they are completely hand made in the USA in a process which takes over one hundred steps to complete followed by another two weeks to allow for each shoe to dry naturally on the last to ensure that they perfectly retain their shape. Due to the easily manipulative nature of the natural leather, each of these steps has become a white glove process from start to finish to lessen the possibility of marks on the shoes previous to purchase. Much like raw denim the shoes will be changed through how they are worn and lived in. Each pair is going to age and darken through wear, exposure to sunlight. Available at Blackbird, $795.

Common Projects is another brand that we have become big fans of in recent years. It’s probably one of the first brands betting on subtle, quality sneakers and since then we have seen a lot of followers. All their sneakers feature premium leathers and almost no branding. It’s the type of shoe that looks nicer with age.

Blackbird now got their Fall 2008 shipment and offers a large selection of styles. The new Chukka is available in red and grey, and other favorites include the Shell Toe Low, which comes this season in a mix of leather and suede.

Men.style tapped our friends at Blackbird Seattle for a spot in their Fall 2008 Buyers Guide. Congrats to them for being the tastemakers we have always known them to be. In particular, we could not not talking about their backpack pick; a gem from Robert Geller. "We have seen a lot of backpacks lately but Geller’s really stands out above the rest. The techy design manages to stay surprisingly subtle and most importantly, very functional." Find it now for 1607$ US. We’re not sure what the extra $7 are for but we assume fuel.

Blackbird Seattle did some treasure chest digging and uncovered a nice collection of vintage Playboy eyeglass frames. These "deadstock" frames feature the Playboy logo on the frame side and come available in amber, black, and clear.

Anything coming out of Apple with an "i" at the front of it is guaranteed some accessories. The 3G iPhone is no exception. Blackbird is taking pre-orders on the newest leather bound iPhone case from Want Les. "And there’s good news for all: those of us who own the "old" iPhones will be happy to know that the case will fit both models."

Available in white, black, cognac, or grey leather for 162$US.

Blackbird Seattle just received their shipment of Diet Butcher’s Slim Skin Collection featuring these great leather boots. “The official color is listed as dark brown but it is such an interesting shade which in some areas appears almost as a very deep purple. Just by handling these you can really see such a huge amount of hand workings which went into them, including the nailed inner and outer soles, incredible stacked heel, and dye processing.” Priced at 1275$US.
