Sacai Blazer

Selectism - sacai-blazer-01

We wonder if proxies work on bonus points, like a Sainsbury’s Nectar card? If they did this would be a great time to take advantage of all those nectar points by ordering a spring-ready blazer. We hate giving out obvious advice but use it as a layer in January and on its own come spring time. Any other usage will result in you spontaneously combusting. (Mindtrive)

Mauro Grifoni Blazer

Selectism - mauro-grifioni-blazer-01

We’re very, very, very tempted to call this a cardiblazer, but we won’t. The exception being that last sentence when we called it just that. Made up buzzwords aside, this a handsome blazer. Some might even call it sprezzy. We’ll stick with calling it handsome though, like most internet based jargon saying sprezzy in public is a little embarrassing. Not quite as bad saying ‘LOL’ but close. (The Corner)

Epaulet “Daltrey” Harris Tweed Sportcoat

08 December 2011, 15.00 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

epaulet tweed jkt 01 Epaulet Daltrey Harris Tweed Sportcoat

Epaulet bring us another ‘Mash-up’ item. This time they’ve taken Harris Tweed in three varieties; navy marl, oatmeal herringbone and gray-green basket-weave. Woven in Scotland’s Outer Hebrides, this traditional fabric starts its life as 100% virgin wool.

Epaulet have created a traditional half-canvassed blazer (the canvas giving added structure to the jacket) featuring what they describe as ‘a natural shoulder’. Features include double rear vents, slim lapels, royal purple lining, goat suede elbow patches and goat suede undercollar. The real selling point is the patchwork of tweeds, rather than making this ‘wacky’ it actually just adds a bit of interest to a classic American sportcoat.

Assembly New York Flannel Blazer

Selectism - assembly-flannel-blazer-01

We’d had to evoke Usher on this esteemed site, but sometimes we like things purely because they remind us of other things. Take this Assembly New York flannel blazer for instance. We can’t look at it without thinking Kolor, which is no bad thing given our love for that label. We’ve also got a thing for forest green at the moment, one of the most versatile colours a man can have in his wardrobe.

Moschino Velvet Blazer

02 December 2011, 21.30 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

Selectism - moschino-velvet-blazer-01

The only reason for this post is so we can quote Coming to America. After all, ‘what is this, velvet?’ Yes. Yes it is. This blazer’s so slick it’d be offensive to wear with anything other than your finest pair of shoes. We’re also aware that Moschino aren’t the trendiest brand to name drop at the moment – especially if you’re part of the sprezz set. If anyone asks where this is from, just say it’s a Cuccinelli one off. And mention that you were into him before all these blogs started featuring him, just to really throw them off the scent. Farfetch has it.

N.Hoolywood Shrunken Blazer

n.hoolywood blazer 01 N.Hoolywood Shrunken Blazer

A lot of people got a bit sniffy over the shrunken suit and it’s ubiquitous presence thanks to one Mr Thom Browne. They did end up in every high street store and on the backs of every d-list celebrity but it’s hard to deny that for some it’s just a really great cut. This blazer from N.Hoolywood will do little to keep your backside warm but what it lacks in length it makes up for with this incredible textured grey plaid and high lapels. Wear it right and defy the naysayers. (Park+Bond)

SEH Kelly Grey Wool/Cashmere Blazer

02 November 2011, 20.30 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

Selectism - seh-kelly-grey-blazer-01

Made in a small run – and we say small we mean it, only five have been made – SEH Kelly have released a new blazer. Or, in nu-blog terms, have dropped some heat on the internet. A wool/cashmere mix, it’s got those soft shoulders that are popular right now and can be given the ‘I’m  wearing a blazer but I’m not really wearing a blazer’ treatment or the Sprezzatura look. Whatever works for you. Take a leap to see more images.

Maharishi Blazer

01 November 2011, 11.00 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

MHI blazer 01 Maharishi Blazer

Along the way blazers have got rather complicated. We’re not complaining, it’s just sometimes all those details and twists and reinterpretations have us wishing for simpler times. This relatively plain jacket from Maharishi is right up our street. Black, no embellishments, it’s only real standout feature are the collar poppers which allow you to get that refined Nehru look, if that’s what you’re after. (Maharishi)

Utile Chipperfield Blazer

28 October 2011, 13.00 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

utile blazer 01 Utile Chipperfield Blazer

Another lesson in simplicity from Utile Clothing. The Chipperfield Blazer is as bare-bones as it gets. If you’re looking for a jacket that comes with an exhaustive list of details look away now. Navy english cotton twill, corozo nut buttons, 2 external pockets and 1 internal. That’s about it. Smart, isn’t it?
