Engineered Garments hand down more spring and summer goods for our enjoyment. The “Andover” is a continuing style season to season; this version is a lightweight cotton and while it is a smarter piece in cut, it is also the kind of jacket you could roll up and crease out without too many worries. A crumple here and there just suggests you live an exciting life and have neither the time nor inclination to iron.

We’d had to evoke Usher on this esteemed site, but sometimes we like things purely because they remind us of other things. Take this Assembly New York flannel blazer for instance. We can’t look at it without thinking Kolor, which is no bad thing given our love for that label. We’ve also got a thing for forest green at the moment, one of the most versatile colours a man can have in his wardrobe.

nanamica presents once again their beautiful field blazer for Spring/Summer 2011. This time they also included the matching vest and pants, offering all three pieces in 2 solid colorways. The Field Suite uses Pertex fabric, which is a tightly woven weather proof and breathable fabric, mostly used in the performance sports market. The combination of this functionality with nanamica design is as usual very intriguing.

Here’s a look at select jackets, blazers, and mackinaws from the Monitaly line. Blazers in wool with shawl collars look great as well as the red and black plaid mackinaw shown above.  Be sure to check the raglan jackets, and mountain parkas as well. Following up on our look at their Technical Blazers for Spring, J. Lindeberg drops some “Soft Summer Tailoring” in their deconstructed set of blazer for S/S. The blazer themselves are brought down to their bare essentials making them a nice lightweight option for those Summer nights which require a jacket. We’ll take two!

J. Lindeberg is mixing tailoring with the technical side of sportwear in the form of two new blazers. The blazers utilize 3 layer fabrics that are breathable and waterproof. “The mix of technologies and materials translates to a mix of experience for the brand.” They should be available immediately.

Some of our favrorite pieces from the Junya Watanabe Spring/Summer 2009 Collection have finally been released. The Japanese designer created some smart reversible pieces for his new collection. There are overall 4 reversible blazers – two with check inner jackets and two with solid color inner jackets. The trench coat inspired jacket is also reversible and has a solid blue inner jacket. We like the idea of being able to entirely change looks without changing jacket.

San Francisco’s Distilled Clothing delivers these nylon deck blazers for Spring 2009. The fabrics used in production of the nylon deck blazers are Japanese made while the trims are Italian made. Add in some old Levi’s machinery in S.F. to put it all together and you have some interesting international blazers.

With winter comes tweed, something we are always looking forward to. Beams Plus presents two superb Harris Tweed blazers this season in grey and brown. The brown blazer is very classic, featuring leather buttons and leather patches on the elbows. The grey blazer is definitely a bit more subtle, not featuring these leather details. Depending on the outfit, both can work well.
