We found this one on the living room table of a writer’s home – and it is a big one. Frank Lloyd Wright Designs: The Sketches, Plans, and Drawings is a massive tome coming this October on the Rizzoli imprint. As the title suggests, the book features one of the most comprehensive looks at sketches, elevations, designs, and mockups from the Frank Lloyd Wright studios. Frank Lloyd Wright Designs also gives a long look at the background work behind such projects as Fallingwater, The Coonley House, Midway Gardens, the Guggenheim, and the Imperial Hotel. A great gift idea for fans of the architect and beyond.

The golden age of a baseball was one that was controlled by the leagues… when players’ rights were low and almost unestablished. Today’s game may not be that different but a document of those times is an important one not only for the sport of baseball itself, but as a part of the American landscape.
Charles M. Conlon photographed the game from 1904 – 1942. More than 205 of those photographs have now been collected in the book, Baseball’s Golden Age: The Photographs of Charles M. Conlon , out now on the Abrams imprint. The photographs were sourced from the archives of the The Sporting News and transferred from negatives. A beautiful addition for anyone who loves the game. Available from Amazon .

Cool Hunting turns us onto this forthcoming book collecting the furniture and interiors work of Knoll. The Knoll Textiles, 1945-2010 book looks specifically at their textile department, which focused on “modern sensibility that used color and texture as primary design elements.” As mentioned by the publisher, “The division thrived in the late 1940s through 1960s and, in the following decade, adopted a more international outlook as design direction shifted to Europe. In the late 1970s and 1980s, Knoll tapped fashion designers and architects to bolster its brand.”
Knoll Textiles, 1945-2010 collects essays and bios from more than 80 designers as well as an ephemera, drawings, and furniture from the period. The book is available today. Amazon has it.
