Not to be confused with the coffee house, the Stumptown by Danner collection of boots delivers original Danner patterns with a new modern twist for the coming season. By partnering with various designers, Danner opened up exploration in form for a re-imagining of a more simple time in their history. Taking a page from their roots in the Pacific Northwest, the Stumptown name pays homage to Portland, OR’s history in logging. The collection offers some excellent takes for the coming cold season. Worth a look.

Dr. Martens delivers the MIE is a clean burgundy. A bit too heavy for the summer but prep yourself for the fall and winter. “The upper is shiny leather in rich burgundy with muted brass eyelets and black waxed cotton laces. There is also the signature Dr. Martens heel tab, which comes in grey.” Oki-ni has them.

A look at the tobacco shade boot coming from the Timberland Boot Company for Spring 2012. It looks as though much of the materials and builds are coming local from the New England area that Timberland calls home. “The Spring 2012 men’s line is built to last a lifetime, with most materials sourced from the Americas – Horween leather from Chicago, laces from Rhode Island, eyelets and soles from Massachusetts and midsole leather and footbeds from Pennsylvania.” If this preview is any indication, fans of the classic silhouettes and materials will be pleased. To be honest we have not been paying too much attention to Closed these last couple of years. While we have always appreciated their denim and especially cotton pants program, the brand somehow slipped our mind. A while ago we ended up walking into their booth at a fashion tradeshow and checked out their Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection.

Much like the rest of the market, Closed had gotten wind of the heritage trend and styled much of their upcoming collection after it. Overall we have to say though, that the collection looked very solid. Rather than going too far with the inspiration, the brand managed to take details and silhouettes out of heritage and added their own flavor and modern take to it, with the result being an easy to wear, casual collection, with lots of nice details.

Here we take a look at the footwear of the upcoming collection, consisting of some hiking boot styles, high rise boots and our personal favorites, the fur lined desert boots.

Sorry for the influx in Tricker’s news, but we do think this one is worth mentioning as well. Kurt Geiger once again worked with the shoemaker for Autumn/Winter 2011 and presents a Two-Tone Brogue Boot. Aside from the interesting use of materials on these, the toe construction is certainly the eye catcher. (GQ)
