This is news to us, but Sanders have launched an e-tail site. And if that’s not shocking enough, it’s actually pretty darn good. Well, when we say pretty darn good, we actually means it functions just like you’d expect an online to function – and compared to Church’s site, that’s high praise. There’s no shortage of white bucks out there this season but if you want your shoes to last more than a few years, you’re best off investing in some high quality ones. These Alden bucks, custom ordered for Blackbird, are great for folks who don’t want to give up their shoe fetish just because it’s hot outside. It’s a continual pleasure to discovery Mr. Mark McNairy’s next twist on classic English and American footwear.

Rest Store benefits greatly from the latest limited McNairy runs. They’ve got the brilliant tonal saddle shoe (above), a loden green suede desert boot, and a pebbled leather Churchill Boot. The latter is placed on a Vibram sole, giving it a nice city edge.

Speaking of city edge, the L.L. Buck in camel brown suede with metal eyelets is super gully and my personal favorite from the quartet of shoes offered by Rest.

Cole Haan is showing the new pieces from its 1985 Collection at (capsule) New York.

Replicating the 1985 catalog, Cole Haan produces some classic footwear at an easily digestible price point. Probably safe to call it a retro line, rather than a heritage line, there’s a nice low key quality to the whole ordeal. Included is a charming saddle buck (pictured after the jump).

Coming in and filling both the Japan centric and buck shoe quota for the week are these excellent plain to bucks from Sanders for SHIPS. Made in the UK, the plain bucks will go over well with just about any look. If your neighbors start giving you hell for looking like a school boy, there is nothing we can do to help you. Zozos, baby. Like the chukka, there are countless variations on the classic buck shoe. So many that they tend to get lost in the mix but these Japanese made “Super Bucks” from Hiroshi Tsubouchi may be the standouts with their gum sole and purple upper. Extra nice comfort for ya. (arks)

Mark McNairy brings contemporary appeal to classic footwear. As creative director of J. Press, McNairy has built a strong reputation for breathing new life into traditional garments. The shoes are constructed by hand in England (Northamptonshire to be exacted) on a Goodyear welt. The uppers allow for multiple sole replacement, meaning you can dance several years of nights away in these fine loafers and bucks. Above is the “Lincoln” a tan suede loafer.

We always feel like our brains get a little frazzled from too much information when the shows start, so it’s nice to see Men.Style breaking it down into manageable chunks of info. They started a little feature called ‘footwear watch’, where they, unsurprisingly, take a look at the footwear appearing on the catwalks.

Fans of bucks will glad to know that they’re way ahead of the fashion curve, as they made an appearance in Jil Sander’s SS10 collection. Burberry’s collection featured the Chelsea boot, a natural fit given the amount of time Christopher Bailey’s been spending in the company of bands lately.

Bucks have been raising their profile lately. In fact, everything from the saddle shoe to the penny loafer has seen a resurgence lately. If we did trend reporting, we’d call this year would be the rise of the classic shoe. While we wonder how far you can go with the shoe renaissance, anything that makes people realise square-toed shoes are abominations is fine by us. The only possible problem with these bucks is when to wear them. Wear them in the heat of summer and you’ll feel like you’re carrying weights around your feet. Wear them in bad weather and you’ll mess up the suede. If you can get around that earth-shattering dilemma, get them from Farfetch.
