Great photos continue to flow in from the runway shows. The Burberry Prorsum for Spring/Summer 2010 is hitting it right on by continuing to hit the mark in traditional menswear. For Spring, the menswear side of Burberry looks to bringing more of a contemporary spin to their wears with knits wear and jackets that are cut for a more modern man. As Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s Cretive Director puts it, “British town and country under British rain and sun.”

I think it’s finally safe to say that Emma Watson is the new Natalie Portman. The young actress is of course the highlight of the Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter 2009 campaign as shot by Mario Testino and designed by Christopher Bailey. As the demand for new looks and collections grow, designer are increasingly having to introduce pre-collection looks to satisfy customers. Burberry Prorsum are the latest to feature a mini-lookbook with their Spring 2009 pre-collection. Featuring lightweight trench coats, slim cut trousers and a wool suit, the colours are typical Burberry, with muted tones of otherwise overbearing colours. If you’re still waiting on the sales, you should take note that Burberry’s pre-sale has already started – with items going for 40% off online. That means items like this cardigan are now relatively affordable, or at least more affordable than they were at full price. Not only is it affordable, it’s also silk, so it’ll feel pretty luxurious to wear, even if it doesn’t keep out the cold as well as a chunky shawl collar cardigan would. Get it from Burberry’s site.

While we know bow ties are the neck accessory of choice at the moment, we still love a good old fashioned tie. Ties tend to come in either underdone or over-embellished forms, but Burberry’s tie straddles between the two. While it is a floral pattern (which can get a little too loud sometimes) the subdued colouring calms it down a little and makes it an easy way of putting the finishing touches on an outfit. Burberry Prorsum’s SS09 collection captured the interest of everyone around, reigniting interest in the brand as a whole. Whilst their AW08 isn’t as strong, there are some great pieces to be had nonetheless. Take this jacket for example.
