Back in 2005, Bono and his wife, Ali Hewson, founded the EDUN line to bring awareness to trade in Africa and beyond. While no major campaigns have occurred under the Edun name, both Bono and Mrs. Hewson have been featured in Louis Vuitton campaigns with the mention of Edun and the African connections.  It all changes for Edun with their debut campaign photographed by Ryan McGinley. The new Edun advertisement campaign features six photographs each featuring one of six species of butterflies – all indigenous to Africa.

LANVIN gets a lil playful with their Spring 2012 campaign flick. They knocked on Pharrell’s door and he introduced the fashion house to 18-year old Maxine Ashley who brings a step of youthful energy to the shoot. “Cookieman,” plays through the track and will be available on Ms. Ashley’s debut album.

What a perfect followup to the Thome Browne runway show. Our friends at Agent Provocateur sent over looks from their Spring Summer 2012 campaign featuring the absolutely stunning french actress Mylene Jampanoi.  Agent Provocatuer  also points out that the season’s campaign was produced and shot with an all-female team, including director and photographer Jordan Scott, alongside Agent Provocateur’s Creative Director Sarah Shotton. Well done. Spend some money on your woman with AP.

It is hard to pass up beautiful images. While this campaign shoot by photographer, Boo George, was presented for Wranger Australia, the images are impressively pleasant and nondescript compared to many. The takeaway from the Wrangler line is that their voices do not need to be so vocal. The garments speak for themselves. Boo George himself has worked with the big guns in fashion peridocials including “Love,” “L’uomo Vogue,” “Arena Homme +,” “Vogue,” and many more. He happened to also photographed the Wrangler Autumn/Winter 2011 campaign as well.

Benetton is not one to shy from the controversial, at least not in COLORS and advertisement campaigns; the last dating back more than 10 years. After a decade away from the consumer spotlight, Benetton returns with a full-frontal attack using a very similar formula of visual provocativeness in their quest to regain the consumer while putting the spotlight on the issue of cultural tolerance.

The Benetton UNHATE Campaign launched today through major newspapers and media channels and helps put focus on their UNHATE Foundation which seeks to ” contribute to the creation of a new culture of tolerance, to combat hatred, building on Benetton’s underpinning values. It is another important step in the group’s social responsibility strategy: not a cosmetic exercise, but a contribution that will have a real impact on the international community.”

An absolutely important cause in today’s world.

A peek at Canadian brand Klaxon Howl’s Autumn/Winter 2011 campaign. Shot by Matt Barnes on the HMCS Haida Destroyer, these guys have gone to great lengths to place their collection in an appropriate back drop. Stating the obvious the range has a strong Naval feel and features some particularly smart outerwear.

While the weather is steaming hot around many parts of the world, Burberry unveils their Autumn 2011 campaign looks. The campaign shots feature British actors, models and musicians. As Christopher Bailey puts it, “”I was inspired by iconic British portraits and our own archive campaigns from the late 1960s of Jean Shrimpton using her trench coat to shelter herself from the poetic and romantic British weather.”
