Autoblog comes out of the gates with a look at the new Jaguar C-X16 auto which they consider to be “Jag’s Porsche Cayman-fighting two-seater – a Jaguar coupe you can actually afford.”Powered by a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 putting out 376 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, the C-X16 concept takes Jaguar’s great heritage of supercharging into the next century with the addition of a “Push to Pass” hybrid system controlled through a steering wheel-mounted button. An electric motor is integrated into the eight-speed gearbox.” Bomb.

2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

Some fresh looks at the 2012 M-Class from Mercedes-Benz. The crossover from Mercedes-Benz gets a refresh in many aspects including the suspension system that it shares with Daimler family member, Jeep Grand Cherokee. The interior find the usual strong range of options from the automaker including a full seven inch color display in the center dash console. Three deisgnations will be offered in the new M-Class: the ML250 Bluetec, ML350 Bluetec and ML350 BlueEfficiency (with the former two as the only options for the North American market). The new “on and offroad” package rounds up the decision making for buyers.

A well done commercial from Aston Martin. “Whitehouse editor Josh Bodnar collaborated with Gentleman Scholar in the LA House and Carbon in the NY House to give you this luscious piece of work. Just be sure to have something ready to collect the drool.”

1974 Porsche Carrera

1974 Porsche Carrera

Gilt, the power house in content-wrapped shopping destinations, delivers their latest classic car auction. A 1974 Porsche Carrera is up for grabs. “One of only 528 built that year, it comes complete with a professionally re-installed ducktail, “Carrera” details, and a paint job that’s as bold as the car itself is quick (thanks to an impressive 8.3lbs/HP power to weight ratio).”  Auction starts tomorrow. Even we admit, it is a beauty, though I still prefer a pre-1990 911.

The Konstantin Beta Ride-Along Toy Car by Nika Zupanc

The Konstantin Beta Ride-Along Toy Car by Nika Zupanc

Children’s toys can be as expressive as those for adults. This ride-along from Nika Zupanc is one of them – exclusive for 20LTD. “The world according to Nika Zupanc is an intriguing one – the creation of this sit-on ‘child’s’ toy exclusively for 20ltd.com is an epitomizing tour de force of her cute originality. Playfully nostalgic for a time when children had physical friends as toys rather than digital enemies, it is surely any youngster’s most stylish first car. For the adults, it might be rather a chic means of arriving into dinner. Available exclusively through 20ltd.com, only 7 editions will ever be made.”

Paris Motor Show | 2012 Range Rover Evoque

Selectism - Paris Motor Show | 2012 Range Rover Evoque

Autoblog reports in from Paris Auto Week with a look at the forthcoming Range Rover Evoque. “Slated to be joined shortly by a five-door version, the compact Evoque fits right into the Land Rover mold design-wise, albeit with a surprising amount of surface jewelry for such a sleek two-box shape. From the protruding fog lamps to the horizontal matte chrome-trimmed hood intakes to the unique divots atop the wheel lip moldings and the somewhat fiddly taillamp lenses, there’s quite a bit to draw one’s eye. The overall impression one gets of the vehicle on the show floor is one of imposing width, a feeling that’s magnified when you realize that an individual of average height can see over the vehicle when standing next to it.”

Ferris Bueller Ferrari Up for Auction

Selectism - Ferris Bueller Ferrari Up for Auction

Well it’s not a real Ferrari 250GT Spyder California but a replica John Hughs had made for the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off movie. More from Retrotogo: ”It’s a Ferrari 250GT Spyder California, but not a real one – only 100 of the original were made between 1958 and 1963, making it super-rare, so John Hughes and Paramount actually had a replica made for filming. Which is the one being sold off now. Just think, you too could be careering around the city in that same car – but you’ll not have to worry about the mileage or your parents.”

selectism - Go Faster: The Graphic Design of Racing Cars

Fast cars? Yes, please. Carefree anarchy? Yes, please. Graphic design? Sure, why not throw that in.

Sven Voelker’s new book, Go Faster Go Faster: The Graphic Design of Racing Cars, details the almost haphazard early history of race car graphics. Through over 100 examples, Go Faster shows exactly how graphics help to modulate the look of the car. One plus of Voelker’s layout is the juxtaposition of decorated and blank cars, giving easy focus to the eventual punch of the graphic.

Out soon from Gestalten. Select page views after the jump.

Chromed-Out Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster

Selectism - Chromed-Out Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster

Luxist comes through with some shine on a chromed out Lambo Murcielago Roadtser. “a chrome Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster (above) has been seen prowling around London where it’s been turning heads to say the least as you can see. The Lamborghini is already eye-popping enough in normal livery for most folk, so the chromed-out version seems designed to scream ‘Look at me!’ And maybe traffic-choked London is simply the wrong setting for this thing – perhaps it could be quite beautiful out on the Bonneville Salt Flats or something…”
