Carhartt, a staple in American workwear manufacturing, shows us how to make lined work vests. The “Arctic Quilted Lined Vest” is an amazing piece for Fall and comes in a couple different colors. This “sandstone duck vest features a nylon lining quilted to arctic-weight polyester insulation.” The vest is “constructed of tough 12-oz. 100% cotton sandstone duck with plied yarns. Some features: inside pocket with hook-and-loop closure, 2 large quilted front handwarmer pockets and a drop tail in back, elastic side tabs at waist and a rib-knit collar. Carhartt’s Chambray isn’t just for the look. This button-down is actually proven. “Our flame-resistant chambray shirt offers durability and protection. Made of 6-ounce, flame-resistant chambray, a blend of 88% cotton and 12% high-tenacity nylon, it has two chest pockets with flaps and button closures, flame-resistant melamine buttons, shaped shirt tail, and a button-down collar.” A great addition to any chambray shirt collection. Carhartt introduces another great great jacket to their collection. “Our waterproof breathable jacket is a shorter version of our waterproof breathable coat and is made of durable nylon with a special water-repellent finish.” The entire interior lining of the jacket is 100% Polyester mesh and consists of breathable membrane shell. Say what you like on this collaboration… this A.P.C. work canvas jacket takes the Carhartt wears, gives it a refined cut and make it presentable in public. That is what you are buying here – the cut. “Straight cut. Long sleeves with slit. Buttoned cuff. Patch pockets. Single vent. Straight hem. Heavyweight canvas. 100% Cotton.”

Believe it or not, we’re not (and never have been) bored of workwear clothing. We’re just bored of all the other mess that comes with it (dullards, people pretending to be experts, coffee). But we still like the clothes, especially pieces like this Carhartt chore coat. It’s not a crazy piece, but it is a crazy facilitator. Our bros. at HS get a full look at the forthcoming A.P.C., Carhartt collaborative capsule collection. From the looks of the capsule collection, the reference pieces are pulled more from the Carhartt line which is fine by us. “The Capsule Collection consists of a denim shirt, jeans, a jacket, as well as t-shirts and striped beanies.” And who’s the model? The collection drops in stores October 2010.

Two decent stories making their way out from the A.P.C. camp at the moment. The GQ Eye which is getting some excellent coverage from Paris via their mobile phone cam, has picked up a first look at the forthcoming A.P.C and Carhartt (EU) collaboration which should hit stores we assume sometime for Spring 2011.As well, the A.P.C. Journal site has launched. This is A.P.C’s official blog of sorts and you’ll get the expected dosing of the brand through that channel nicely. Feed it into an RSS reader while you’re at it.
