We know you’re probably bored of chambray shirts by now, but what about chambray trousers? We’ve gotta admit, our main worry with them was that they’d be a little too lightweight. Lightweight is fine, overly light and you start resembling R. Kelly in the nineties. Thankfully these Post Overalls trousers avoid that by making just the right weight – light enough to wear in the heat of summer and heavy enough to not have you freezing during an evening cold snap. And on top of all that, you can wear chambray without looking like every other guy in chambray. (The Bureau)

Song remains the same, detailed images after the leap.

Selectism - wings-horns-chambray-parka-01

Wings & Horns had a barnstormer of a autumn/winter collection – to paraphrase Mike Tyson, the blog love was impetuous, the styling impregnable and the clothes just ferocious. Their SS10 collection hasn’t had that effect on folks, but there’s still more than a few great pieces to get your hands on. Take this parka for instance, while folks are getting bored of chambray shirts – or to be more accurate, getting bored of blogs hyping chambray shirts – a chambray parka is still interesting enough to get the nod of approval. If, on the off chance, you’re still looking for a chambray shirt, make it one like this. And by ‘like this’, we mean one that has a couple of nice details – we’re sure you’ve got enough plain chambrays to last you a lifetime by now (we know we have). So this Wood Wood shirt, with the club collar and selvedge detailing, should be right up your alley. And it’s on sale. Before you ask, yes we’re still bargain hunting. (Wood Wood)

Take a leap to see some extreme close ups of the aforementioned details.

Gitman Vintage Heavy Chambray Shirt

Chambray-fatigue is a syndrome that attacks those suffering from an overdose of the fabric. Take a seat and lets us explain why this chambray shirt is worth purchasing. The difference between this and the hundreds of other chambray shirts available right now is that this is a heavyweight material, making it much more suitable for winter – as well as making it much harder to iron – as you can see in the pictures above. The detailing is simple and fuss free and the quality of Gitman goes without saying. They’re a brand respected by everyone, whether you’re a fashion kid or someone who sits on message boards writing bitter posts about us. Hopefully we’ve cured you. (Tres Bien)

YMC Bow Tie Chambray Shirt

21 August 2009, 10.30 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

selectism - ymc-bowtie-chambray-shirt-01

What’s with high street retailers spelling chambray with an e? It’s not technically wrong, but the only folks who seem to do it are Topman and ASOS. It’s almost as annoying as people referring to companies in the singular instead of plural.

Remember bow ties? They were supposed to be the next big thing in neckwear, but they’ve ended up as one of those niche trends. If you’re a bow-tie wearer who’s managed to pull them off without looking affected, then you’ll like this YMC chambray shirt complete with attached bow tie. Our only complaint is that the bow tie itself looks a little too perfect. How are we gonna pretend we did it ourselves when it’s done up like that? (ASOS)

The song remains the same, detailed shots after that leap of faith.

Neil Barrett Chambray Shirt

neil barrett chambray shirt Neil Barrett Chambray Shirt

In case you hadn’t noticed, Chambray’s pretty popular right now. We’ve seen every style you could think of – from shawl collars to see through patterns – but sometimes less is more. This Neil Barrett chambray (The one man denim encylopaedia that is Kiya tells us below that isn’t chambray, we had our suspicions – but this confirms it) shirt isn’t as over embellished as other versions out there but there’s a lot to be said for its simplicity. We don’t mind short sleeved shirts, but we do advise that you roll up the sleeves to maintain your cool. Get it from Start.

Right to the point to close off an awesome Friday of sun and fun. A nice simple, to the point, chambray oxford twill shirt form the good people at Gitman. A nice cut on this piece and when modeled, looks to have a hlem line which allows for you to wear it out without scraping your ass. (blackbird)

Topman Chambray Barrel Bag

topman chambray denim barrel bag Topman Chambray Barrel Bag

Given Topman’s ubiquity in the UK – it’s practically part of the furniture over here – it’s almost bizarre to see the fuss being made over the US version of the store. However, with pieces like this Chambray bag, we understand why the US wants one so much. This bag acts as a perfect finishing touch to a denim-less look (say neutral coloured oxford and chinos) and will suit anyone who likes to splurge on other items in your wardrobe. Get it from Topman.
