We know the traditionalists don’t like denim shorts, but as long as they’re not the stonewash denim they can look good. The high street/high fashion collaborations continue as Ann Sofie-Back becomes the creative director of Cheap Monday. The appointment coincides with the Swedish designers return to Stockholm after more than a decade in London. She’ll be responsible for everything apart from the denim, which will remain under the guise of the original owner (and hopefully include a few more forgiving cuts for those who’ve dared do any form of physical exercise in the last ten years). Her first full collection for Cheap Monday will be the Spring/Summer 2011 collection, although she contribute towards the SS10 and AW10 collections. She’ll continue to show at London fashion week and her lines will carry on as normal.

Cheap Monday has always kept their mantra simple. “Offer the customer fashion at an extremely good price… by putting Cheap Monday alongside more expensive brands in good stores where we like to shop ourselves…” The look and vibe of the brand continues with their Autumn/Winter preview for 2009.
