Two great check shirts from a fan favorite, Our Legacy over at Fever. “The rosen and teatergrillen checks in soft cotton flannel with one chest pocket” are great looks which provide a fairly fit cut for the gents. They’re classic patterns though the rosen is more towards the current lumberjack movement.

These Journal Standard trousers are a perfect example of what we’d like to see more of this season. They’ve taken notice of a growing trend (rolling up) and have used it in their design, mixing a small check pattern on the outside of the trouser with a bigger gingham print on the inside, giving it a great look when rolled. We don’t mean to tease with these Edifice items, but sometimes certain pieces are so good you want everyone to see it – even if they can’t actually buy it. Take this checked shirt for example. It’s no achievement to find a nice checked shirt nowadays, but the subtle pattern and soft cotton on this shirt makes it stand out. You all know the drill by now, you can get it from Stylecruise (we’ve even added a google translate link) but actually purchasing it from Western waters is another matter entirely.

Shirts that double as jackets are gaining in popularity and look to be an enduring trend of Spring 09. If you want to jump in early and just wear these shirt/jackets as shirts then this Pudel check shirt should do the trick. When we first spotted this pair of Alexander McQueen shorts in Mens Non-No last month we knew these were bomb. "This is the Alexander McQueen Digital Print Short … in a superb yellow and black colourway. The style of the short is very relaxed and the length comes to just above the knee. Ubiq presents yet another winter boot as part of their Holiday 2007 collection. The boot is based off their popular Fatima sneaker. Just like the Fatima, the Preseren boot features the flap and has tartan check underneath it. The outer sole is thicker to hold you warm this winter. The boot comes in three colorways, each with black suede upper, but different tartan check colorways on the flap.
