Clarks Originals presented their Spring 2010 collection for the European market at this week’s Bread & Butter Berlin. Colorway changes are abundant in the collection, as well as new fabrics and materials. Our favorites include the Desert Boot worked, of course, in leather and suede. Worth a look if youre in the market for some new Clarks classics. That does not mean you should toss your others though. Clarks simply look better with age.

We have officially found our favorite colorway of the Clark Desert Boot. The “Wolf” colorway sits between the sand and cola styles, is thus not too light and not too dark.

They are now available at Oi Polloi and they also give us the background story of the boot, that we had not heard before – “Rarely seen, ‘Wolf’ coloured version of the classic Clarks desert boot, created in 1950 by Nathan Clark who got the idea from crepe-soled, rough suede boots which officers in the Eighth Army were in the habit of getting made in the Bazaar at Cairo.” That’s the great thing with such classic styles – there is always a background story.

Clarks is changing things up again with their latest take on the Desert Boot, the Desert Khan 2 (appropriately). The Desert Khan hit the market just a few years ago and was based on the classic 50’s design of the Desert Boot but with a low profile look. The new take on the Khan provides premium suede leathers, keeping Clarks one of the in-house favorites at Selectism right now. Get them now from Atmos.

The Clarks Point Taken Boot take the classic Clark Desert Boot and gives them an upgrade – the toe is formed with a modern pointed toe and the outer is sourced from premium materials. Since its inception in 1950, the Clarks Desert Boot has been a staple shoe of people from the city to the mountains of New Hampshire. Today the boot is re-introduced with some modern enhancements as part of a collaboration with Nano-Universe.
