With Mongolian barbeques, the question isn’t always chicken or beef. Now that Puma and W hotels have teamed up to launch a Mongolian shoe barbeque, it’s also a question of leather or suede, red or purple, as W Hotel guests now have the opportunity to create their own custom-made Puma shoes in the privacy of their rooms.

Inspired by the tradition of creating personalized meals from a variety of ingredients, Puma’s collection for W Hotels enables guests to become involved in the art of shoemaking; they can pick from a wide assortment of pre-cut materials to design their own individualized pair of shoes. Unique accoutrements, including special W shoelaces and insoles, add to the ultimate practical souvenir. The concept launched at Puma stores in 2005 but a portable tray of options has been created especially for easy room delivery, which W’s exclusive Whatever/Whenever concierge service will transport. After selecting a desired combination, guests can go online and order their shoes at www.puma.com/whotels. The site will launch on November 14, marking the start of the one-year collaboration between W and Puma. Prices begin at $100 and guests will receive their customized kicks within six weeks of ordering.

Definitely an interesting move from Puma and a nice way of branding their Mongolian BBQ in a more high end market.

As part of the Blank Canvas collection Fred Perry got together this season with Alastair McKimm. Alastair McKimm is a stylist, born and raised in Belfast. Now based in New York, he has worked with numerous fashion publications including Italian, Chinese and Japanese Vogue, Purple, i-D, V, Numèro and Numèro Homme.

In his Blank Canvas collection he presents a black collection with champaign colored Fred Perry logo embroideries and lots of attention to detail overall. Pic via Honeyee.

For the second time Undefeated gets together with Spalding to collaborate on a basketball. The first one came in black, this time they present a white one with the Spalding and Undefeated logo in gold.

Friday, November 9th, Paper Magazine will open a 24hour store in Los Angeles and invited their favorite brands to participate in the store. Undefeated is one of those brands and will release this Spalding collaboration basketball at the 24hour Paper Store, and only there, on Friday at 6pm.

Last week we presented to you the first part of the Kaws x Comme des Garcons collaboration – a series of wallets. But there is more to this exciting collaboration. Other products dropping are mens and womens t-shirts, wool bags and also fragrance sets. All pieces of this collaborative collection feature iconic hand-drawn graphics by the artist Kaws.

The collection will be available starting November 15th at colette, then from November 24th at Comme des Garçons, Dover Street Market and OriginalFake.

The inspiration behind the collection was born when a Fred Perry designer unearthed a vintage Fred Perry t-shirt…for an Action Man!

Using this shirt for style references the classic Fred Perry shirt was ‘supersized’ and lead to the Little Big Action Man titles. Key details include oversized collar and cuffs, thicker tipping, large press stud fastenings and a heavier knitted pique styled in a slim-fit silhouette.

There are three items in the collection all iconic pieces from the Fred Perry collection; the traditional polo shirt, the track jacket and the classic tennis jumper. All styles carry the authentic 1950’s Fred Perry laurel worked in a heritage palette – shades of snow white and tartan green.

This limited edition collection will be available from Thursday 8^th November from oki-ni.com and from Fred Perry Laurel stores world-wide.

Just recently we reported about the Griffin x Berghaus technical jackets. This time Clerk & Teller got together with the outdoor jacket specialist on a series of three collaboration jackets. Japanese brand Comme des Garcons is known since a long time for their excellent wallet program and brings everything season interesting remixes, colors and materials in this product section. This time they have something very special for you, a collaboration series with artist Kaws. The series consists of overall 4 wallets in different sizes and styles. Each wallet features a graphic by the artist, spelling out “CDG”, “Kaws” or “Garcons”. Not only is it a great series, it is also quite moderately prices at 70-145 Euros.

Takashi Murakami, an artist that we have followed and admired for quite some time now, has recently opened his most comprehensive and complete exhibition to date at the MOCA in Los Angeles. The exhibition his showing works from the early days up until now and has a vibrant mix of paintings and sculptures. The ones among you that cannot make it to the exhibition have the chance to get an idea of what there is to see here thanks to the Hundreds.

The museum also worked with Louis Vuitton and set up a store selling collaborative items of the French luxury brand and the artist, a collaboration that has already been going on a couple of years.
