Casely-Hayford to design for John Lewis

22 October 2009, 10.30 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

selectism - casely-hayford-spring-2010-shoes-01

Forgive us, we’re a day late and a dollar short with this one. We first heard this on the twitter grapevine and assumed someone, anyone, would be blogging about it. Turns out no one did, so we thought we’d get in on it.

The father/son duo Casely-Hayford, who’ve been exciting bloggers with their mainline and shoe collection, are working on a collaboration with UK-based department store John Lewis. It’s a little surprising, given John Lewis’ reputation as being a little fusty and old school and the Hayford’s reputation for subverting the fusty and old school.  Whatever the end result, it’s sure to be an interesting one.

While other brands seek to collaborate for gains, Edifice collaborate out of love for a brand. Take their collaboration with Trickers, the classic English shoemakers who are famed for their hand made shoes. Not many companies would think of collaborating with such a company, but Edifice did and the outcome is the perfect mix of the new and the old. Like most Edifice clothing, stockists on the Western side of the world will be hard to come by.

Danassa Deck Shoes Mid For Journal Standard

highsnobiety - Journal Standard x Danassa Deck Shoes Mid

We already loved the low version of the Journal Standard and Danassa Deck Shoe collaboration and we almost like the mid version more, now that we see it.

The upper comes in premium suede, a gum or white sole, depending on the colorway. You can go for something more classic in the range, such as navy or brown, or something that pops, like the red colorway. We could not think of a more perfect Fall shoe.

Overall Journal Standard offers them in seven colorways, so choice should not be an issue.

Have a look at the entire line-up of Journal Standard x Danassa Deck Shoe Mid’s after the jump.
