A slight change on the polo design for the love… give it to Junya and CdG for properly re-interpreting the polo design with a little change. They may not be the first but at least we can trust the cuts. The curved side slits and shawl-style collar do this garment right. Let’s move forward, shall we? Farfetch has it.

Arena Homme+ give the stetson a run out in this ‘Cowboys, Rangers, Bulls’ editorial for Spring/Summer 2012. Using the iconic hat and boot combination for artistic affect rather than fashion suggestion (we hope), an interesting story that makes much use of light, shadow and projection backdrops. With clothing from the likes of Raf Simons, Jil Sander, Margaret Howell, Comme des Garcons and a strong American showing from Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hifiger and Calvin Klein – one to wave you Stars n’ Stripes at. Here’s some alluring interior design by Piero Paulo Gesualdi, formerly a high-end shop owner who brought brands like Gaultier and Comme de Garçons to Melbourne, where he is based. He has been nominated for an Australian interior design award for this stunning rehab of an army drill hall built in 1935 that now serves as his office, showroom and home.

His design approach entails: “detailed research into materials and collaboration with talented craftsmen to produce a seamless integration of new and old, industrial and sculptural.” We wonder what the drill sergeant would think of all of this.

A collaboration that recently landed on our doorstep, two labels we’re more than happy to see join forces. John Smedley has being creating fine knitwear for over 225 years so to say they’re experts in the field is a bit of an understatement. They’ve produced 3 styles with Comme des Garçons; a v-neck cardigan, a short-sleeved shirt and their standard ‘Dorset’ shirt, all with contrast stitching. Dyed in Japan, these New Zealand Merino wool creations are then milled in the UK, Derbyshire to be exact, the finished product available in 3 shades of blue; Azure, Midnight and Royal. A handsome and delightfully quizzical cardigan, this jobber from Comme des Garcons looks incredibly soft more than anything else. That is a credit to not only the Merino wool, but also the muted green, blue and browns that make up the camouflage print.

We would be happy working this into an outfit, but almost happier wearing it with some sweatpants on a Sunday morning as its indubitable softness gives it the air of a pajama shirt, which is not a slight. Available at Oki-Ni.

This will seem like a silly purchase, seeing as it is december. But think of the future, the very near future. Spring to be exact. You’ll need this shirt then, so you might as well buy it now while it’s on sale. Some might call that smart shopping and, err, that’s what we call it too. (LN-CC)

Document wallets are a bit silly if truth be told. Don’t get us wrong, we love them but they’re awkward to carry and end up looking a bit like a clutch bag. That being said there’s just something about what is essentially a giant’s wallet that draws us to them. You don’t have to put documents in them, in fact we’d advise against it, they’d probably just tear on the zip on the way out.
