This will seem like a silly purchase, seeing as it is december. But think of the future, the very near future. Spring to be exact. You’ll need this shirt then, so you might as well buy it now while it’s on sale. Some might call that smart shopping and, err, that’s what we call it too. (LN-CC)

Document wallets are a bit silly if truth be told. Don’t get us wrong, we love them but they’re awkward to carry and end up looking a bit like a clutch bag. That being said there’s just something about what is essentially a giant’s wallet that draws us to them. You don’t have to put documents in them, in fact we’d advise against it, they’d probably just tear on the zip on the way out.

Highsnobiety gives us a look at the DSM exclusive t-shirts from the CdG PLAY line. We have to say, they look great. “As usual they keep it simple and mostly based around their heart logo graphic. Beige isn’t boring. It’s actually the perfect colour for a cardigan. To be specific, a Comme Des Garcons SHIRT merino cardigan. There’s something very calming about the coming together of several shades of brown, this particular combination reminds us of a chocolate Neapolitan ice cream wafer sandwich. The envelope design makes this one a bit more interesting, resembling a large, eye poppingly bright jiffy bag, if you do decide to use this whilst riding your bike you won’t be missed. Some denim love from the Comme Des Garçons Homme Plus collection. “Denim tailor jacket, front in treated wool flanel golden pigment all over roving print” that comes from the season’s Asian influence. Silk and wool lining finish the jacket well. Colette has them.

The Wall Street Journal have an interesting interview with CDG’s Rei Kawakubo today, breaking down her relationship with fashion, how the brand got started, working with Junya Watanabe and the design process. We’d usually pick out a single quote but the entire thing is worth a read, so go over to WSJ to do just that.
