Common Project Spring Summer 2012 Footwear Sneakers 01 Common Projects Footwear Spring 2012 Preview

Highsnob gets the scoop on Common Project’s Spring 2012 looks. “A very solid Spring 2012 lineup from the sneaker makers par excellence, Common Projects. As our pals from Tres Bien put it; “it takes a subtle eye to appreciate everything that makes up the CP collection, but Pete and Flavio haven’t been resting on their laurels, and the Spring ‘12 collection is proof.” From the original minimalist sneaker range to runners and even more grown up boots and brogues, the line is one to beat. Peruse the gallery for some more peeks.”

Common Projects Duck Boots

Common Projects Duck Boots
Duck boots are a bit of a love/hate item but they sure as hell aren’t going away any time soon. The fact is, thanks to LL Bean they’re a bit of a classic and whatever you think of them it’s hard to argue that they’re a practical piece of kit. Many men would balk at the idea of pulling on a pair of wellies in harsh weather, the great thing about the duck boot is that they protect your feet without having to resort to the trouser tuck-in option. Here we have Common Projects take on them. Polished pebbled leather, these have a thick sole perfect for stomping in puddles if that’s your kind of thing. Catch them over at Colette. -ld

Common Projects Duffle Bag

Selectism - common-projects-duffle-bag-01

They’re a little harder to find than their footwear but CP do have some great accessories, like this overnight duffle for instance. It’s perfect for those who like fancy bags but don’t necessarily want everyone to know that their bag’s a fancy one. Of course you’ll have to hope that potential thieves don’t read blogs but if they don’t you’ll be safe. (Ssense)

We all know the rules of sales by now don’t we? If you don’t, let’s lay them out right now: only buy something you would’ve considered buying at full price. Sounds simple, but sometimes a brand name and a 50% tag can blind your eyes to the most obvious things. We’d rather get one thing we really want in a sale than five things we kinda sorta wanted. Peter Poopat – Not a Shoe Designer

Selectism - common-projects-01

Tres Bien have a nice little interview with Common Project’s Peter Poopat up on their site. Tracing the company’s beginnings, Peter’s publishing background and where the company are going to next, it’s an informative piece. There’s an especially interesting quote about Common Projects first ever product images:

“The first pictures of Common Projects were taken in my living room with my crappy camera. They were my shoes.” But something about those photos resonated with people. Later, in Paris, a man approached Peter and told him he’d had that very image blown up to hang as art in his apartment.”

You can read the entire piece here.

Common Projects Green Achilles Low

At this point, posting up CP’s is almost cheating. We mean, we all know they look good right? But we do feel this colourway needs highlighting. Everyone knows the deal with CP at this stage (and if you don’t, here’s a link to a Q&A we did a while back). As usual, if that pricetag doesn’t put you off, then go right ahead and get yourself a pair. (Tres Bien)

Common Projects Chukka Boot

Does Chris Paul wear Common Projects? We’re just wondering because that’d be a hell of a marketing campaign. Random thoughts aside, these are handsome and you could wear it with other clothes and look good. Say what you want, but we give advice you can’t get anywhere else. Next week: how to put on your trousers. (The Corner)
