Common Projects is another brand that we have become big fans of in recent years. It’s probably one of the first brands betting on subtle, quality sneakers and since then we have seen a lot of followers. All their sneakers feature premium leathers and almost no branding. It’s the type of shoe that looks nicer with age.

Blackbird now got their Fall 2008 shipment and offers a large selection of styles. The new Chukka is available in red and grey, and other favorites include the Shell Toe Low, which comes this season in a mix of leather and suede.

Odin Stores are expanding their reach in NYC with a new space entitled DEN – a 350sq/ft store which will revolve around one single brand, designer, or concept at any given moment. DEN "will give the designer an opportunity to showcase a broad representation of a designer’s collection." The DEN space has previously showcased the Robert Geller collection and will now be occupied by Common Projects line of footwear. This looks to be Common Projects first retail excursion. We present you the Common Projects Spring 2008 collection. As usual the brand presents a solid line-up of sneakers. White, black and grey are the dominant colors and they present them in leather, suede and perforated leather this season. In terms of branding of course as usual only the gold serial number embossed on the side of the shoe.

Refinery29 have done a nice Spring 2008 Mens Footwear preview and included some of our favorite brands in the line-up. Common Projects, Opening Ceremony, PF Flyers, Spring Court and others made it into the mix. Canvas sneakers definitely make a strong comeback as well as simple silhouettes in general.

Common Projects has become one of our new favorite sneaker brands over the past 2 years. Simple and subtle aesthetics, nice colorways and the golden serial number is a nice touch as well. The brand smartly enlarges their collection every season. For Spring/Summer 2008 they add perforated leather sneakers, mixed (leather and patent) sneakers and some fresh new colorways.
