Following up on our first preview of their Autumn Winter 2011 collection, Commune de Paris provides flat looks at the garments that you should consider for the coming months. Their press release dumps adjectives all over the collection: “Its palette is composed of deep blues, warm browns and, here and there, a few notes of spicy red. Its material is rich but always delicately wrought. The design espouses its subject to perfection, at times light, at others elaborate, but always elegant. But what constantly strikes one is the almost manic care given to every detail, an inherited skill that was thought to be lost.”

French brand Commune de Paris and Paris retailer French Trotters team up on a capsule collection for Autumn/Winter 2011.

“Four elegant garments make up the collection: two shirts “Ferré”, one cardigan “Belleville 02″ and a bag “18mars FT”. Special care over detail, quality of the fabrics used, fitted shape, precise choice of colours: these are the self-imposed condition that the two Parisian labels have adopted.”

The collaborative collection launches from the brand’s online store, the shop’s online store and in store at French Trotters this week.

Like Diddy, the collaborations can’t and won’t stop. Unlike Diddy, there’s still some worth paying attention to. Take this French Trotters for Commune de Paris bag for instance. With two Parisian brands collaborating on one product, this bag is officially the Frenchiest thing you can buy this side of wearing a Saint James, eating a Croissant with Brioche and reading Purple magazine all at once. Commune de Paris sends over a few preview looks from their forthcoming Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. The collection, “No jury, no prize,” is produced from “beautiful fabrics:  merinos wool and cashmere for pullovers,Italian cotton weavings for shirts.  Cuts are still sober, but sometimes bright colours can be seen here and there.” The collection name is in reference to “the ‘Salon des Refusés’ which, during Napoleon III’s rule, gathered works of “unofficial artists.’”

CDP just revamped their website, launching an e-store – or ’boutique’ in their own words. Our favourite piece that we can’t get elsewhere is this weekend bag, which is as simple and classy as they come. Bags are usually one place you want to be a little classy with – mainly because you’ll be using them for decades once you have the right set. Despite all the love we show CDP we rarely show individual products of theirs, so we’re showing off this sweater. You’d be hard pressed to find a man without some form of navy knitwear in his wardrobe, but a piece like this would still be a great addition. What makes this piece stand apart is the chest pocket. It’s not really functional – not that chest pockets are used regularly anyway – but it’s a great finishing touch for anyone obsessed with the little things. (Studiohomme)

CDP’s stand at Capsule showcased their continued focus on wearable basics and, as not to give the game away too early, we’ve decided to focus on their accessories. Their weekend bags use their trademark buttons and there’s also some jewelery. Jewelery is still an iffy subject for a lot of men, but CDP’s is of the decidedly understated variety. And if, jewelery is a no go, the handsome weekend bags will surely be to your fancy.
