The “California Causual” brand drops a modified boat shoe constructed from supple leathers and a unique non-slip sole as well as aknee high galosh which is a good alternative to the “Hunter” Standard. COMPASS brings their footwear show to NYC next week from Feb 1st and 2nd. The show will be held at the Puck Building at 295 Lafayette Street (at Houston) and features a top shelf selection of brands including, Opening Ceremony Shoes, Zuriick, Timberland, Red Wing and many many others. If running (capsule) was not enough, the BPMW family travels over to Las Vegas for their Compass shoe show show this weekend, July 31 through August 1. Expect the usual range of footwear but with a bunch of show exclusives including the second Florsheim Duckie Brown collection, Mark McNairy’s made in the U.S.A New Amsterdam collection. Compass, the shoe and footwear show from the minds behind the  highly successful (capsule) show, is landing once again in Las Vegas next Thursday and Friday. A slew of new collections will make their debut at Compass, including the Cole Rood & Haan collection coming from Cole Haan, which looks to hit a younger consumer market, Florsheim by Duckie Brown, Mark McNairy’s New Amsterdam Collection… overall more than 45 brands will showcase their Autumn/Winter 2009 looks during Compass.

The BPMW team that successfully re-focused menswear with their (capsule) shows are now setting their eyes on doing the same for footwear.

COMPASS: A New Direction is scheduled for July 28th and 29th in Las Vegas. Citing that “the footwear industry is dying for a change,” BPMW hopes to states that “Shoes are no longer just an accessory, they’re a culture. With all the lifestyle, the collectors and new collaborations infusing footwear with a new energy, it’s pretty evident that the industry isn’t what it used to be. Things are different and we’re about to prove it.”

Though the COMPASS brandlist is not yet finalizes, we expect more than 40 brands to participate. It looks like we’ll be adding another show to our normal coverage roster.
