The color palette for the collection pulls inspiration from forests, mountains and deserts from the brand’s home state of California. Thats the important stuff here. COMUNE is keeping part of their collection made domestic in the United States. Their Autumn 2011 collection features a variety of goods that are built with “the superior quality and care of U.S. made product” while keeping the price in a $38-$138 retail range with denim sitting around $96. The idea is to provide the consumer with affordable basics made in the U.S.

Devendra Banhart has worked with COMMUNE on their Drop City program to deliver this t-shirt for Autumn 2011. Banhart adapted an original peice of art for one of the 40 t-shirts in the Drop City collection. “Rather then placing a complete piece work on the front of a shirt, COMUNE worked with Banhart on using an exploded view of a smaller section creating a more organic pattern to the print. We are very pleased and happy to be working with Banhart.” Look for it soon.
