Haute Concept comes through with preview looks at the Spring/Summer 2009 John Varvatos collection for Converse shown at the Blue Tradeshow in NYC this week. The collection features footwear that accents a casual menswear line, with ready to wear looks.

With their on-going collaboration with designer John Varvatos, Converse has entered a new market that they did not serve before – the high fashion market. Premium materials and just an overall different approach made the collection in the past very interesting. Over time the market has shifted to a more subtle style and with that the John Varvatos For Converse collection was of course right on point.

We have not come across the clothing of the collection very often and can thus not say much about that, even though it does look nice on images.

The new Converse Varvatos Collection is starting to show up in shops worldwide. The collection now takes a step beyond the laceless outfittings of the former collections with the inclusion of high-top laced Chuck Taylors, and Purcell Vantage model. Have no fear, laceless Chucks and Purcells remain but its clear the movement is heading back to the traditional. The collection is available now via Illustrated Example.

The relationship between Converse and John Varvatos continues to result in quality releases. Six new Jack Purcells have dropped at The Reed Space, each focusing on material and subtle contrast.

We gave you a first look at these a couple of days ago, here now some nicer pics of this subtle summer sneaker by Undercover. The shoe is covered in grey/white stripes and clearly communicates good weather. It is now available at Cliffedge.

Among the latest releases by Converse are these Jack Purcell Canvas styles. The mix of premium brown leather and beige or respectively khaki canvas makes a perfect match and an overall nice sneaker. It definitely has a more classic look and feel, almost like an upper class sneaker from along time ago.

Here you see the latest release out of the on going collaboration between Converse and designer John Varvatos. The Chuck Taylor Hi comes with an all black canvas upper, used coloring on the white outer sole, leather laces and black metal application along the laces and on the heel.

The sneaker has now been released at Tradition.

Dr. Romanelli has released a new version of his website. With new projects releasing in the near future, it was time to rework the site and properly present what there is to come. On the new site they present several new projects, including an on-going project with the Richard Kidd boutique from Canada, the Converse Century project, Lupe Fiasco and more.

Also Dr. Romanelli got together with Las Vegas vintage boutique Fruition to collaborate on some t-shirts.

The Converse Jack Purcell has celebrated a strong comeback in the last couple of months. Not only have we seen it in many high profile collaborations, also strong in-line models were released.

That seems to continue. Here we give you a little preview of what you can still expect to come out this year. Just like we have seen from other brands, Converse also applies some gold for the Holiday season on their shoes. Pics via Conope.
