COS delivers looks from their Spring Summer 2012 collection and it comes in as a colorful affair. A fresh take that does not fall too deep into the casual looks that have collected for the season, COS aims to bring well tailored and suited looks for everyman. A look from the H&M basics line, COS, for Autumn Winter 2011. Basics for the gents. Easy to wear. Don’t overthink things.

Here’s a short and sweet preview of COS’s shoes for autumn. When we say short, we mean it, there’s only one more shoe after the leap. At least you’ll have longer to marvel at the handsomeness of the shoe (and, if you’re in the states, marvel at the fact that COS hasn’t made it across the pond yet).

Roll up, roll up, here’s a look at COS’s AW collection. We’ve been saying how much we liked their last collection and, quelle suprise, we like this one too. There’s quite the Raf/Ervell influence this season judging from the use of colours and the cuts, but that’s a good thing. Especially compared to the dark years when they were starting to look like a poor workwear replica. At this point we’re starting to look like we’re taunting US dwellers (especially those with only H&M to go to).

After showing off their accessories last week, here’s a look at COS’s full collection. There’s still a definite workwear influence in there but it’s a little less prevalent than in previous seasons. This time around there’s pleated chinos and double breasted blazers (as seen above) alongside short sleeved sweatshirts, and a plethora of jackets – including a bomber we have our eye on.

Here’s a look at COS’s SS11 accessories collection. H&M’s upscale sibling (who would’ve been perfect for that Lanvin collab) continues making desirable and affordable accessories. We would say accessible but unless you’re in Europe, you’ve still got little chance of getting your holds on these. We’d heard murmurs about an online store a while back, but nothing’s surfaced as of yet.

COS recently invited us to design our very own Selectism shop windows in their 3 stores in Berlin. We gladly excepted, yet we only had a very short time to realize the project. Berlin based design agency Floor 5 and Sarah Illenberger, as well as Adrian Hermanides, were commissioned by us to come up with a concept and create an installation for the three stores. They got inspired by the Fall season and thus created a kite inspired installation for all three shops, covered in COS fabrics. In line with the COS style, the installations were kept very minimal and perfectly fit into the COS environment. The installations are currently on display at the following COS stores:

One day, we’ll be seeing the COS shops popping up in North America. The company, which is part of the H&M dynasty has published their Autumn and Winter 2010 looks online. It is indeed a bit of a step up from the H&M line, with more focus on the basics and the more Eu friendly cuts for the gents. Overall, the pricing is moderate and workable as well.

Alongside Uniqlo, COS remain one of the few high street stores we’d actually recommend. Whilst a couple of COS’s most recent collections could be accused of overdoing it on the workwear influences, the AW10 collection has the balance just right, with quilted shirts being teamed with snoods, sharply tailored trousers and blazers. Elsewhere, there’s duffles, coated cotton jackets, the now-standard cropped trouser and sleek corduroy in the rest of the collection, which you can see after the leap.

Here’s a sneaky peek at a handsome pair of derbies from COS’s upcoming Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. We’ve personally been neglecting black shoes for a while, but they’re a true wardrobe essential. Brown shoes are great and all, but there will always be a time when black shoes are necessary. COS have always been great for folks who want handsome shoes but don’t want to cross that £100 barrier and this shoes carry on that tradition. The mixture of leather and suede (leather’s used on the vamp, throat line and heel, whilst suede is used on the quarter) make this just a little more interesting than the usual derby. The £99 price tag doesn’t hurt either.
