CREED’s Green Irish Tweed is ready for this week’s festivities. CREED announced the launch of a new men’s fragrance. As a clear reminder that everyone should get involved in keeping our waters clean, portions of the proceeds are being donated to American Rivers project. “Olivier CREED, sixth-generation master perfumer of France, presents Aventus, a new fragrance for men that honors traits of virility, power, strength and vision, inspired by Napoleon, the man who crowned himself emperor of France and all Europe, a self-made king who waged war, peace and love on terms he set. CREED Aventus gets its name from an ancient word meaning “success”. Aventus debuts in America before all other countries, a CREED rarity. Part of proceeds from U.S. sales of Aventus will benefit American Rivers, protecting U.S. waterways from harm. “

Climate change looks to have thwarted CREED’s ability to produce their Vintage Tabarome fragrance which has been around since 1875. The problem would seem to be “environmental” conditions but it is not clear exactly what those are. “The quantity and quality of natural ingredients available to make Vintage Tabarome no longer meet the standards of the CREED family. Speaking recently from France, the family said that rather than use ’substitute’ ingredients yielding an inferior result, they would stop all production of Vintage Tabarome with no plans to resume.” So, like the Tasmanian Wolf, the Tabarome Fragrance is facing extinction.  50 bottles will be offered at CREED at 794 Madison Avenue in New York City and online; all of which come from CREED North American president’s personal collection. Each bottle is priced at 405$US.

All peasants can now smell like a king through a limited editor run fragrance from Creed. “Created for King Edward VIII in 1936, Windsor is now being released to the public for the first time in a limited edition run of flacons or a 1.7oz leather-wrapped, shatterproof atomizer (pictured above). The scent features top notes of British Gin, Jamaican Lime, and Scottish Highland Pine.
