First Look | CREEP by Hiroshi Awai Autumn/Winter 2012 – Looks

creep hiroshi awai mens fall winter 2012 01 First Look | CREEP by Hiroshi Awai Autumn/Winter 2012 Looks

Hiroshi Awai’s CREEP line is based up in Canada and designed with Japanese sensibilities. What that means is left to discussion. What we know is that season after season, CREEP offers looks and cuts that pull heavy from the designer’s background and, more importantly, the collection is distributed well throughout North America. The fleece, above, is a great look that pulls from those classic 90’s mountain garbs – modernized of course. CREEP works.

First Look | CREEP by Hiroshi Awai Spring/Summer 2012

Selectism - creep-spring-2012-01

We did show this off at Capsule, so this is technically a second look. Although this is the first look at the lookbook so we’re not stretching the phrase too far. Creep continues straddling the lines between fashion, workwear and tailoring – creating something that’s akin to what your wardrobe is (or should be) like.

Take a leap, see the rest.

Selectism - creep-spring-2012-01

Creep’s been growing steadily for a few seasons now (it took us all our energy to not say ‘creeping up’ just there) and, with a stand at Capsule, they should be expanding in Europe soon enough. We’ve got our eye on the tapestry blazer, a piece which shouldn’t work but does. On the collab front, there was a team up with American workwear label Pointer brand.

Take a leap, see more images.

CREEP by Hiroshi Awai Striped Shirt

Selectism - creep-striped-shirt-01

We often hear about how hard it is to wear a granddad collar. Baloney – like most things, it’s as hard as you want to make it. We don’t see why it’d be difficult to wear this with any sort of dressed down outfit, it’s just clothing people. To put this into basketball terms, you should stop acting like all Jared Jeffries and start being more like Ray Allen from the 3pt line. (ASOS)

Selectism - creep-trousers-01

You know what we like? Trousers with a touch of jazz. No, we don’t mean chinos designed by Ornette Coleman, we’re talking visual jazz (it’s closely related to Tron Legacy’s biodigital jazz) via stripes. We’re not fascist about much but if you’re gonna do this look right now, put some socks on or you’ll catch a cold. (Blackbird)

CREEP by Hiroshi Awai Autumn/Winter 2011 Looks

Here’s a look at the Autumn 2011 offering from Hiroshi Awai’s CREEP line. The collection builds off of strong Japanese inspired North Americana classic looks. Clearly the take is progressive and fit for the modern way.  Striped abound across toggle coats and shirts. The shawl collar knit on the upper left is a strong piece as well.

Selectism - CREEP By Hiroshi Awai Spring/Summer 2011 Looks

The CREEP by Hiroshi Awai continues to grow every season including their forthcoming Spring 2011 collection. The enzyme washed work shirt which opens their lookbook stood out immediately to me. Problem is, finding a good fit heavyweight shirt is not as easy as it may seem, let alone in a great color. Dig through the looks…

Creep Tailored Trucker Jacket

21 April 2010, 13.30 | Posted in Fashion | 2 comments »

Selectism - creep-trucker-jacket-01

Spring’s here. We repeat, spring is here – not summer – so save your shorts for a couple of months down the line. We’ve seen far too many folks about who’ve failed to realise that sunny doesn’t always equal hot. What you (or that friend of yours who’s always first to get the shorts) need is a light jacket like this Creep number. Design-wise there’s a lot in common with denim jackets, but this won’t look like you’ve raided your little sisters wardrobe when you wear it (an unfortunate side effect of the cropped shape of most denim jackets). (ASOS)

Song remains the same, detailed images after the leap.

Selectism - Creep by Hiroshi Awai Autumn/Winter 2010

Our friends at HB remind us to take a look at the Creep collection for Autumn/Winter 2010. “Although initially founded in 1997 by Kiyofumi Awai, the company has taken a new direction since 2008, under the guidance of designer Hiroshi Awai, Kiyofumi’s brother. The line boasts a distinct look, blending innovative Japanese styles with that of classic American workwear, making for a timeless array of looks.”

Selectism - Creep by Hiroshi Awai Spring/Summer 2010

Hiroshi Awai continues to bring forth his style of fashion through Creep. For Spring/Summer 2010, Creep gets nautical on the season. Blazers are fashioned with slimming shorts, while pop color chinos are mixed with shawl collar knits. A nice Canadian alternative to the run of the mill nautical inspired lines.

Many more looks at the Creep by Hiroshi Awai Spring/Summer 2010 collection after the jump.
