Japanese brand Spellbound, straight out of Okayama, bring us this amazing Deck Jacket. Inspired by the USN’s skilled use of denim during world war two, they’ve added a couple of extra details that give this a chore jacket feel alongside its seafaring roots. A neat shawl collar, 4 reinforced pockets, leaf logo donut buttons, 100% cotton, we’re told the denim on this one is exceptional. Isn’t the name Trevor great? It’s so safe, so dependable, so what you’d want a denim jacket to be called. And thankfully, that’s just what Wrangler’s Blue Bell collection have done with this denim jacket. Like all things denim related this season, it’s washed and, therefore, it’s cool.

We always like collaborations like this because they always sound so overblown. We’re not sure why three companies needed to form like voltron to make this, but we do like the end result. Goodhood release their collab for this season and here’s our pick of the bunch. We feel ridiculously cliched calling anything a staple, but a good denim jacket is always a welcome addition to a wardrobe. The plaid on the cuffs make this an acquired taste but we’re fans. (Goodhood)

We haven’t teased you with any Japanese product for a while now (it must have been at least a week now) so we feel like redressing the balance today. The designers mantra for this season seems to be, to poorly paraphrase Snopp Dogg, ‘Ain’t no fun if my homes can’t reverse none’. The reversibility on this jacket sets it apart from the denim jacket herd, making it much more versatile than those vintage shearling numbers doing the rounds. As you’d expect from Adam Kimmel, it costs a pretty penny, so you’d better start breaking open the piggy bank if you want one. (Tres Bien)
