Raleigh Denim for Tenue de Nîmes

selectism - Raleigh Denim for Tenue de Nîmes

Tenue de Nîmes adds another young American brand to their growing list of collaborators with a limited canvas number from Raleigh Denim. We like Raleigh for their use of a humorous hip-bone x-ray screen print on the pocket bags. Tenue de Nîmes clearly likes the upstart brand for ability to form good looking trousers from a variety of fabrics. For the small batch of 24, Raleigh Denim has used a 11.5 oz indigo canvas with contrast gold stitching. The pants are said to wear like denim.

Available here. More images after the jump.

Details after the jump.

Hartford Denim Company

selectism - Hartford Denim Company

Being from Connecticut, there is a certain pleasure in writing up Hartford Denim Company this week. The trio of passionate pants (and jackets) makers – Marshall Deming, Dave Marcoux, and Luke Davis – have been generating strong buzz (via NPR and a nod from our good buddy Marcus Troy) recently, and so the time is certainly right.

Their handmade, limited edition denim pays tribute to Connecticut with a state shaped patch. There’s a bit more about HDC on our pages here, and after the jump you can take a full look at Hartford Denim Company Clopen Jean – Cone Mills 130z if you’re counting.

I’ve tried on a pair and can attest to a solid fit. If you are looking for something unique, give the guys a call.

More Autumn/Winter previews for you today.

Sweden’s Denim Demon continues to push Sami inspired workwear with an ever expanding line of denim, shirts, and sweaters. For 2011 they’ve brought in Swedish hip-hop legend Petter (we’ve been fans since the late 90s) as the face of Denim Demon and sourced from Cone Mills. The lookbook was shot by Jens Andersson.

Check out all the Denim Demon Autumn/Winter 2011 looks after the leap.

Fullcount Jeans All-in-One Coverall Suit

fullcount denim coverall 1 Fullcount Jeans All in One Coverall Suit

Forget the all-over prints – this is the real deal in all-over denim. Somehow, they even made it slim fit. God bless Japan. This all-in-one denim coverall from Fullcount is made from 13.5oz Zimbabwe selvedge. Those zippers get you in and out of it quickly. But, for some reason, the look above reminds me of the Patterson Gimlin bigfoot film. Blue and Green has them.

Post Overalls Denim Jacket

Selectism - post-overalls-denim-jacket-01

We don’t know when it happened specifically but we’ve become a little obsessed with denim jackets lately, especially ones you can layer underneath a bigger coat. We doubt you could layer this one underneath anything but it’d look nice on top of a good chunky knit. And it’s on sale if you’re feeling rather Omar this January. (Superdenim)

Iron Heart 634sX Flannel Lined Jean

Tokyo based denim brand, Iron Heart, releases their newest design in collaboration with Self Edge. The well–known denim store, Self Edge from San Francisco, California delivers nothing but the best when it comes to japanese premium denim. “We took their 21oz indigo selvedge denim and lined the entire jean with a heavy weight triple brushed black/gray flannel, but we didn’t stop there. The jean is completely coated in paraffin for repelling water.” The Ironheart “634sX” jean is an amazing example of construction and design the pant is dedicated to all those that desire a jean for the most critical weather conditions. Cadence Reinforced Cycling Denim

Cadence Reinforced Cycling Denim

Now, as many know, some cyclists wear denim – at least most urban and commuter’s do. Problem is, denim is not really made to take impact of that saddle. I, myself, have mended more than one pair of jeans (even the Japanese denim) due to the crotch tearing. No fun. The good thing is a bunch of different brands make some reinforced cycling denim.

Cadence builds their pair from U.S. Cone denim with just a touch of lycra (2%) to give it some stretch. The crotch is reinforced (of course) and the back pockets are dual layered. The reflective back patch is a nice touch.
