Ski season is around the corner.

Lust for the mountains breeds desire for new sticks. Placerville, Colorado’s Wagner Custom Skis and Snowboards handcrafts their wares in small lots. Terrain, location, style… all these are taken into account as the team assemble custom rides from the best available maple and ash (not to mention state-of-the-art plastics and resins). To make things better, the shop is fully powered by sun and wind. Quality craft for outdoor pursuits.

Visit Wagner, map out your Skier DNA, and be ready for the slopes.

We’ve been supporters of Deus for a good while now. This video should give you the requisite feel required to embrace the brand spirit.

Our friends as a whole are a tight knit family of passionate, hard working post modern motorcycle lovin’ enthusiasts who love what they do.

A lot goes on in our realm of the world. Weather it be racing purpose built motorcycles across salt flats, brain-storming paint job ideas for oven fresh motorcycles or burning off into the night hoping to catch the next swell in Lombok. This video is just a glimpse from within our walls and minds.

Live fast and live free because tomorrow may just be another day…but its a day that should belong to you.

Stewart River Boatworks

selectism - Stewart River Boatworks

We haven’t featured a canoe since last November. Let us remedy that now.

Handbuilt by Alex Comb, a man who fell in love with boating at age 11, Stewart River Boatworks, quite frankly, produces gorgeous traditional watercraft. The company responds to a wide range of boating desires – offering several types of canoe, kayak and row boat. Comb works from traditional designs, modifying each boat slightly for customer preference.

Stewart River Boatworks will be on hand on September 11, 2010, as J.W. Hume and Pierrepont Hicks combine to host “NorthernGRADE Men’s Market” in Minneapolis. Canoes will line up nicely with some of our favorite bicycles – those by Freeman Transport – and there will be shoes, socks, etc. as well.

For more on Stewart River Boatworks, visit Stewart River. A selection of fine boats comes after the leap.

Marian Bantjes for Wallpaper* “Dazzle Camo” by Laser Sailboats

marian bantjes dazzle laser sailboat selectism 0 Marian Bantjes for Wallpaper* Dazzle Camo by Laser Sailboats

Here is a bit of a preview of what Wallpaper* and Laser Sailboats has in store for Salon del Mobile in Milan later this year. The commissioned Marian Bantjes to work over this Laser sailboat in a “dazzle camo” print. As Bantje’s describes it, “I avoided the obvious of working with organic forms to go with the wind, water, etc., and instead work deliberately against those forms. I wanted to make something that was incredibly distinctive in the water, and which would disguise its speed and versatility.” (core77)

Selectism - Wallpaper* "International" Bike by Kinfolk & Coat

The “International” for Team Wallpaper* is one of a handful of bicycles that the magazine helped develop. Many international friends worked on the series. Shuichi Kusaka of US-Japanese operation Kinfolk built the frames. Coat in Portland, OR painted the frames while the custom saddles were made by the Brooks Saddle Co. Nivaldo de Lima worked on the custom bicycle bags for the one-offs. A great project overall.

Selectism - Denon DP-A100 Direct Drive Turntable for 100th Anniversary

Over the years, I have owned my fair share of Denon hardware. They’re cassette dupicators kept me busy before I discovered DAT player decks – which many people still use to this day. Now in celebration of their 100th anniversary, Denon is releasing a series of new components including this direct drive DP-A100 turntable. The specs are on point for a direct drive table. For those looking for more info on the design: “The DP-A100’s beautiful cabinet has been made with sliced veneer of natural wood and given a multi-coat finish similar to lacquer to produce a deep glossy luster.” Also includes a lovely brand book. Simply beautiful. (core77)

Selectism - Racepresso Coffee Machines by Ilgar Rustamov

The good minds at Yanko throw some interesting espresso machines on the table for review. The Nespresso “Racepresso” coffee machines brew inside a pair of Ferrari helmets. “Schumi’s pet Ferrari branding and Nespresso cross breading is evident in this helmet-styled coffee machine. But what gives me the kicks, is that it will fit perfectly into retro-styled interiors…from the 70’s-80’s era where it was all about having loud, faux-branded unique collectables!”

selectism - Espresso Solo Machine by Shmuel Linkski

Yanko Design reports (and raves) about a new espresso machine by designer Shmuel Linkski. Espresso Solo finds Linkski housing the active devices of the machine in a two-part molded concrete body. The design is no fuss – incorporating only the necessaries for making long and short espresso – bean chamber, water outlet, etc.

Full looks after the jump.

Selectism - The Top 10 Toys of Summer

Ah. The toys for the man with a bottomless wallet. Readers of the Robb Report may fall into this category. I sure do not, but nothing beats a little aspirational viewing to keep my hopes alive. Their latest on “The Top 10 Toys of Summer” gather together some of the very best products to spend your slush fund on. My personal favorite being the Subacraft hybrid water vehicle seen above. It comes in at a safe $120,000.

More on the “The Top 10 Toys of Summer” at Robb Report.
