Despite all our haranguing about heritage, we actually despise the hyperbole, not the clothing. Which is why we leapt at the chance to visit the Dickies HQ in Hamburg and interview Juergen Alker, who heads up their streetwear division in Europe.

And it’s pretty much what you’d expect from a good sweatshirt, qualifying for all the superlatives that usually pass around the menswear blogosphere. A short history on the Dickies workwear company.

Tomorrow is the big Dickies 1922 Capsule Collection launch in New York City.

We’ve reached a point where phony heritage stories don’t move us anymore. Just because a company has been going for 100 years doesn’t mean they were leading their market or even creating quality products during that time.
