Regular readers will notice regular postings about new magazines. “Say print ain’t dead!” Let’s face it, print probably is dying and for good reason. Digital technologies do allow for more innovative options in content and user experience. Plus, they don’t create physical waste (just drains on electricity and other resource).

What is lost, is the tactile feel of the magazine. BERG’s Mag+ concept works to establish a digital platform that doesn’t divorce itself too much from the true magazine experience. Does it work? Not yet. And, it won’t appeal much to the hoarder in all of us… what are magazines without stacks of them about?

TUMI Alpha Collection gets militant for Autumn 2009 with two pieces of luggage that extend the brand to those walking the “urban battlefield.”  As they put it, “The digital camouflage print is applied to ballistic nylon creating the ultimate statement in utilitarian style… With the intent to disguise or blend with the natural surroundings, this camouflage print instead will attract some attention and be easily identifiable among the sea of black bags.” We happen to love digital camo when done properly. TUMI Alpha does this DPM well, not only in looks, but in durability and build. What else would you expect from them?

Silas is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2008. The brand has created a strong following over the years, by constantly pushing boundaries and collaborating with the right people on the right products. To celebrate their 10th anniversary, they got together with Wired h, the Seiko sub-brand, that make radio controlled solar powered watches, that we presented to you several times already. The 10th anniversary edition comes with a special leather bracelet and also has “Silas 10th anniversary” written over the dial. A hint of gold details give the watch a nice premium look that is underlined by a small sequence of rhinestones. Via Hypebeast.
