Highsnobiety reports in on the latest J Diver from the Chanel watch collection. “Celebrating ONLY WATCH 2011, Chanel has released a unique model of the J12 Diver timepiece.” The 38mm face comes in a “sand-blasted” black ceramic with 18kt rose gold.

This should have been in Transformers 3. The Chronofighter diving watch from the Graham watch house is a machine. In fact, I would be very cautious with this on my own arm. For divers, it makes sense. The 477mm face complements the stainless steel PVD finish. Good for 330meters of dive. The Chronofighter will set you back $12,500. (tz)

I tend to shy away from the white bands but this Seamaster Ploprof from Omega has me thinking about a timepiece binge.

The Richard Mille company drops a new timepiece on the market with a slightly smaller face than usual. “Based on the RM 025 Tourbillon diver, the new RM 028 diver comes in a smaller case size of 47mm. It is made of titanium with rubber and is water resistant to 300 meters.” For the man looking for something with shine on the wrist.

A Baselworld killer from Omega in the form of the 2009 Professional Ploprof Diver. The watch made back in the day in conjunction with famous French diver, Jacques Cousteau, comes with a most important “shark proof” bracelet and left side screw crown. Now that’s protection. Baselworld 2009 is right around the corner but watch manufacturers are not holding back. The Dior “Red Digit Diver” Watch maybe one of the nicer drops from the Dior watch department in some time. The black rubber or stainless steel casings measure at 42mm and comes with a 42 hour power reserve. Two solid looks from Dior.

The SIHH 2009 show just wrapped up from Geneva and though attendance may have been lax, a number of new models were unvieled. IWC dropped this Aquatimer Deep Two Chronograph. Encased in a 46mm stainless casing, the Aquatimer Deep Two is the takes over the reigns from the GST Deep One by not only showing the actual depth of the dive but also show the maximum depth reached during the dive. As Timezone puts it, “It… doubles as a complete second safety system alongside the dive computer.”

I will admit that the Pelican Case and custom case-back removal tool which the Kazimon “Eintausend” Diver’s Watch ships was the “deal sealer” for me. But the more I look into this German watchmaker’s “flagship diving watch,” the more I am attracted to what you actually get for it’s budget price tag of 2033$US.

The “Eintausend” (German for 1000) is almost a steal in some ways. The black diving bezel sits on top of 44mm casing (cut from a high grade stainless steel) that houses a thick 3mm domed sapphire crystal with an AR coating – call it scratch proof for all intensive purposes. You get a 25-jewel Swiss movement, inside a shockproof and antimagnetic construction. The face and hands are coated in C3 SuperLuminova for excellent readability. It’s simply finished with the date between the four and five hour.

As our editor in Geneva put it, “you are buying a diver’s watch with similar functionality to the new Rolex Deep Sea at a 1/5th of the price.” And by golly, they even take Paypal.
