This fall, Dockers will launch the ‘Alpha’ Khaki, a slim fit trouser designed to wear like jeans. With over-lock stitched seams and a heavy weight fabric (which will capture the personality of the wearer), the ‘Alpha’ Khaki marries the aesthetic of the chino with the attributes of denim. Twelve colors will be available.

To mark the introduction of the ‘Alpha’ Khaki, Dockers has collaborated with New York City’s first barber shop/cocktail parlor – the Blind Barber.  Located in the East Village, the Blind Barber was the backdrop for Dockers Fall 2011 campaign and featured the founders and staff wearing the Alpha. Dockers slim tapered khaki, the SF Tapered, comes in a strong range of Summer ready colors. Enzyme-washed for comfort and fitted with genuine Corozo button closer, the trouser sits slightly below the waist and finishes with an 18″ leg opening. We’re partial to the blue and orange versions… though for the bold there is a wicked white pair available.

On Monday May 2, 2011, Dockers will announce the winners of their $100,000 “Wear the Pants” project.

The contest encourages men to take action on a personal dream as yet unrealized. Five finalists have been selected – each with a distinct desire and project. Joshua Kuch, for example, plans to open a microbrewery in Tallahassee, Florida if he claims victory. In contrast, Ryland King of Goleta, California (pictured above) aims to expand his youth driven nonprofit which empowers children to become stewards of the environment.

This Spring Steven Alan for Dockers features three styles of pants – Army, Messenger, and Mod Jod – for men and a brand new line of trousers for ladies (mentioned here should a gift be in order for your significant other). The co-labeled wears will be available from Steven Alan online and in select stores, as well as direct from Dockers.

Docker’s teamed up with bike maker Johnny Loco to create a limited edition of 150 bicycles (insert tired hipster joke here). Here’s a short making of video. It’s actually an interesting watch.

The Selby, who’s been racking up collabs and campaigns at the pace of Usain Bolt, just showcased his latest collaboration, a campaign for Dockers. According to the man himself, “the idea behind the shoots was to make a series of photos of stylish Bay Area guys living the dream and doing what they love.”

Heritage continues to dominate the shelves of European doors, and with the “Made in the States” collection Dockers has a solid new line entry for Spring/Summer 2011. These American made garments employs Amhot, Byrd Cloth and Cramerton fabrics for the most authentic look and feel. The fabrics tie directly to the history of khaki, and also to Dockers own brand history. Fit wise, “Made in the States” presents the famous K-1 and D-1 Khaki’s both of which are inspired by WWII army issue.
