We usually ignore window displays, but when DSM do them we take notice. This time they’ve teamed up with Egg London, installing three plinths of layered clothes. The clothes are a mass of 18-19th century peasant clothing collected by Bryony Thomasson which create a three dimensional montage of Thomasson’s adventures. We like that turn of phrase, we wonder if we can use it to describe when we leave piles of clothes on the floor? No? fair enough.

The CDG owned store Dover Street Market have been, somewhat unsurprisingly, collaborating with Comme for a capsule collection for as long as we can remember; here’s a standout from their latest collection. There’s not much to say about this, It’s a green jacket and it looks good. The price isn’t the friendliest but that should’ve been expected when you heard Comme were involved. (Aloha Rag)

London’s Dover Street Market has announced their inaugural menswear collection for Autumn 2009. “Comprising a well-edited collection of menswear separates, the style of this collection embodies the DSM spirit: relaxed, accessible and discreetly irreverent.” Contrasting top-stitch details match jackets and trousers while shirts display the familiar DSM logos as stencil prints or badges. There is a variety of fashions to examine in this collection. Browse a bit. The Dover Street Market Menswear collection launches on July 18th.

London’s Dover Street Market is currently getting in the Autumn/Winter 2008 collection from their designers. Also the store welcomes several new spaces by guest designers in the building.

This season Salvatore Ferragamo is in the house showcasing 80 years of archive pieces. Hussein Chalayan’s new collection can be purchased on the third floor (picture above), Lanvin has a new space and Yves Saint Laurent presents Edition 24, a space designed by theatrical set designer Michael Howells.
