Dr. Martens Manton 2-Eyelet – Desert Boot

Dr. Martens Manton 2-Eyelet - Desert Boot

This is the missing link in my spring look. The greyed out Manton 2-eyelet boot from the Dr. Martens collection. Prices in at a very fair $130 over on Boylston Trading Company. Not much to say on this one that you cannot see from the image: suede grey upper, red sole, with slight contrast in the laces. About as perfect as it gets from Dr. Martens here. Big fan.

liberty london floral satchels 1 Liberty London Floral Satchels Dr. Martens

Liberty London worked over a small series of satchels to complement their forthcoming collaborative Dr. Martens boots featuring two prints: Martens Flower and Strawberry Theif. The satchels look great, and while meant for women, a confident gent may have no problems pulling these off. Fuck what they say. Be you.

Available May 1 from the Liberty London shop on Regent Street.

Modernizing the 2-eyelet Dr. Martens chukka boot with some old school British Millerain textiles in brown works. We love the look on the chukka and appreciate the DMS bouncing soul to keep the ride as comfortable as possible. Sturdy and ready to wear. Available in a darker brown as well. Caliroots has them.

Sunspel for Dr Martens Polo Shirts

Sunspel DrMartens Polo 01 Sunspel for Dr Martens Polo Shirts

This collaboration sees stomping Dr Martens soften up. Literally. Thanks to Sunspel’s incredible way with cotton, these shirts are one of the softest things I’ve ever touched and that includes those kittens I hung out with in ‘96. We’re told, “the Sunspel for Dr. Martens polo shirts are produced in the finest quality pique cotton. The polo was a natural choice as Sunspel has been perfecting the garment for generations, it also reflects the various subcultures that often wore polo shirts with Dr Martens.” What this means is a choice of Cherry with yellow tipping and Black with yellow tipping, representing Dr Martens most popular styles. Available in May, these shirts get our seal of approval.

dr martens pendleton boots bag 1 Dr. Martens and Pendleton Boots and Bag Autumn Winter 2012

After running two stories on the expansive Dr. Martens collection for Autumn/Winter 2012, I did not think we would be revisiting the line so soon but after seeing the new “black/grey” version of the Pendleton boot vs. bag combo, we had no choice. As mentioned before, Pendleton fabrics are used against the boots as well as special bags developed to compliment the set. Choose your favorite. Shown at PROJECT, Las Vegas.

Brutus – Dr. Martens – Trimfit Shirt

Brutus - Dr. Martens - Trimfit Shirt

Recently catching a glimpse of SE7EN—a keystone movie of the ’90s—we were taken aback at just how baggy Brad Pitt’s dress shirts are in that film. As Dr. Martens, another big-time hallmark of that decade, are enjoying a real renaissance in popularity, it is nice to see that slouchy-as-hell button-ups are, for the most part, being left back with the Manic Panic. Brutus has been taking that style point to heart since the ’60s, as the London-based purveyor of the Trimfit shirt. As the name suggests, these long- and short-sleeved button-ups hug the torso and completely outrun any unnecessary draping.

This collaboration between Doc Martens and Brutus celebrates the former’s iconic oxblood leather and yellow stitching with a damn proper plaid. That the boots and the shirt look made for one another is no surprise, the brands have been paired by the well-dressed working class—and maybe even a few homicide detectives—for decades. -jt

This is the first of two looks from Dr. Martens we’ll profile for Autumn/Winter 2012. The collection a big one and we want to ensure nothing is lost. This first look focuses on the “special ones” made with the help of both brands and textile makers: Stussy, Lochcarron of Scotland, Pendleton, Harris Tweed, A. Sauvage and more. Again, this is only part one. More shortly…

Dr. Martens Lester Shoes

Selectism - dr-martens-lester-shoes-01

Albam are stocking Dr. Martens – something that’ll surprise the nu-workwear folk out there. It makes perfect sense to us, with the work shoe being a classic and all that. And if any tumblrheads need a frame of reference to justify this purchase, we’d like to suggest ‘This is England’. Only the film though, not the awful TV series. (Albam)
