This is the first of two looks from Dr. Martens we’ll profile for Autumn/Winter 2012. The collection a big one and we want to ensure nothing is lost. This first look focuses on the “special ones” made with the help of both brands and textile makers: Stussy, Lochcarron of Scotland, Pendleton, Harris Tweed, A. Sauvage and more. Maybe the start of something aggressive from Dr. Martens. Their current installation at Dover Street Market features two styles: the 1460 8-eye boot and the 1461 3-eye shoe, which can be ordered to your exact specs. And yes, you can use ostrich if you like. Make them boots all yours. Available by appointment only in the basement of DSM from October 5-26.

Albam are stocking Dr. Martens – something that’ll surprise the nu-workwear folk out there. It makes perfect sense to us, with the work shoe being a classic and all that. And if any tumblrheads need a frame of reference to justify this purchase, we’d like to suggest ‘This is England’. Only the film though, not the awful TV series. (Albam)

Dr. Martens is working on a new “Made in England” collection for Spring 2012. As part of the collection, these fish scale wingtips will bring a slight hit of uniqueness to the normal form. These look great in person. The Martens sole remains pure on these.

Dr. Martens delivers the MIE is a clean burgundy. A bit too heavy for the summer but prep yourself for the fall and winter. “The upper is shiny leather in rich burgundy with muted brass eyelets and black waxed cotton laces. There is also the signature Dr. Martens heel tab, which comes in grey.” Oki-ni has them.

An impressive offering from Dr. Martens was shown for Spring/Summer 2012 at Bread and Butter, which began in Berlin today. Florals, people. Dazed delivers a look at the Spring/Summer Dr. Martens fashion collection. “Designed to complement Dr. Martens’ iconic look, the new clothing line for fans of their signature boots and shoes retains their unique silhouettes and distinct contemporary style. Inspired by Dr. Martens’ extensive footwear heritage and focusing on the ideals of British workwear, Dr. Martens’ first line for S/S11 features both men’s and women’s clothing and accessories such as chambray and gingham shirts”

The upcoming Octavius, from Dr Martens Autumn/Winter 2011 Sovereign line, was a clear highlight of last weeks Compass New York. Like the other Sovereign shoes – including a Penny Loafer and 8-Eye Boot – the Octavius is built on a sophisticated, tapered line. The contrast piping gives the burnished Tan leather upper more dimension and is in keeping with the smooth profile of the 4-eyelet shoe.

All shoes on the Sovereign line are Goodyear-welted and feature the original Dr. Martens air-cushioned sole.

Dr. Martens delivers a few of their styles including the  the Langley, 5-Eye Saddle, and 5-Eye Brogue, in British Millerain across two colorways. It would seem that these will land beyond European shore which is a nice bonus. The Langley is as clean as it gets – at least I think so. Seen at Bread & Butter Berlin.
