D.S Dundee point us towards their official Autumn/Winter lookbook. Lots of classic pieces to keep you warm and well turned out. We’ve got a love/hate relationship with linen shirts. And what we mean is that we like wearing them but hate the thought that we’re channelling R.Kelly circa 1998. Linen’s all good until you look like a 90’s R&B singer with, shall we say, questionable tastes in women. But, with all that said, don’t let our bizarre minds put you off a nice shirt. (DS Dundee)

One of our favourite Scottish brands, DS Dundee, have just released a preview of their upcoming Spring/Summer 2011 collection. We’re not really a suit and tie site so we’re gonna show off more of the casual pieces. These trousers, entitled ’smart but lazy’, are a little wacky, but they do a good job of avoiding the crazy clown feel that trousers of this ilk would usually give off.

Our motto for this post is ‘why wait?’ We posted up the handsome footwear from the DS Dundee Autumn/Winter 2010 collection yesterday, so we might as well show you the full collection today. As you’d expect from DS, the collection’s focused on classic pieces rather than statement ones, with jackets made from Harris tweed, fair isle jumpers and shawl collar cardigans all featuring, there’s a piece or two for everyone in this collection.

DS Dundee have been making strides in their clothes, making their clothes locally without the usual boasting that comes with the territory these days. For their AW10 collection they’ve started making their shoes at Cheaney’s factory (as they noted in the process series) making some fetching brogues and boots. Entitled the ‘Brander’ brogue and the ‘Bannerman’ boot respectively – you can see the latter after the jump – the company continues to make clothes for men who like well made, classic clothes at affordable prices.

Up next in our ongoing series are Scottish label D.S Dundee. Starting out as a streetwear company in 1994, D.S Dundee have evolved into a heritage-inspired label focusing on wardrobe staples. Add the fact that the large majority of their clothing is created within the UK and you have a company with a compelling process to tell. Read about it after the leap.

If 2009 was entitled anything apart from ‘the year the recession hit’ it would be known as ‘the year of the site relaunch’. We’ve lost count of the number of great blogs, stores and magazines who’ve revamped their online digs this year and we can add D.S Dundee to that ever expanding list.

With a list of influences that include Kemal Ataturk (the first democratic president of Turkey for the uninitiated), it’s safe to assume that D.S Dundee are doing more than just reproducing classic country garb. Shooting jackets, double breasted overcoats, corduroy suits and copious amounts of tweed all make an appearance in a slimmed and trimmed manner.
