Selectism - dunhill-shawl-collar-cardigan-01

If you’re still searching for the perfect shawl collar cardigan then may we make a suggestion? We think this Dunhill version should be up your alley. We like it because it has all the cosiness of a regular shawl cardigan, with the added (forgive the cliche) twist of the panelled strips on the arms. Classic with a twist and all that jazz. Dunhill have called in the skills of Chinese artist Les Suen to create a piece to celebrate the third anniversary of the Shanghai Home of Alfred Dunhill. “Considered one of China’s most influential designers, Les Suen’s work aims to reconstruct objects and ideas, hoping to challenge traditional concepts and make us consider our approach to them. In this work, Suen uses the door to represent home, believing that no matter how grand or famous, it can never compare to the feeling of opening your own front door.”

Dunhill Club Sunglasses

Dunhill continue their line of classic, no-fuss accessories with these ‘Club’ sunglasses. Rodenstock lenses, UV protection, acetate and metal frame and a tastefully small AD logo on the arm. The shape is reminiscent of the Clubmaster but with a more squared off feel and wider front. The Havanas, a dark tortoiseshell are the stand out colourway in the collection but these can also be found in black and brown. -ld

Dunhill have created what’s surely the most expensive game of Jenga ever with this brick set. Made from stainless steel, they’ve all got the Dunhill logo (because without that, you’d have to spend all day explaining why this isn’t regular Jenga). They’re available from Dunhill. (sybarites)

Selectism - Kim Jones Leaves Dunhill

Now that was fast! Yesterday many outlets reported on  Kim Jones stepping down as Dunhill’s creative director. Dunhill’s Cristopher Coffer is quoted in an official press release: “Kim has made a valuable contribution to the creative development of Alfred Dunhill over the past 2½ years,” Colfer’s statement said. His collections have been both commercial and greatly appreciated and therefore we are sorry to see him go but his departure is in line with the original planning and strategy for the brand. We wish him the very best in his future creative endeavours.” (photo: wallpaper*)

Dunhill Bowtie by Kim Jones

Selectism - Dunhill Bowtie by Kim Jones

We get incoming feedback from all ends here. Our staff in Berlin and London open our eyes (at times) to the simplicity in singular pieces. This bowtie from Dunhill found on the GQ UK site is one of them. “Dunhill’s silk knit rendering of the classic is the perfect finishing touch to any tux. So what prompted this sudden move to a more formal dress code? No, not the more outré looks of years past (yes Mickey Rourke, we’re talking to you) but rather a decision we should man up and make our annual awards as stylish as the magazine that makes them.” Dunhill’s white tux shirt works well as well.
