In one of those ‘we never knew we wanted it until we saw it’ moments, Edwin have released this varsity with suede sleeves. We tire of saying the word ‘twist’ on this site, but this counts as one. If nothing else, it makes a nice change from the leather sleeved variety. (Three Threads)

Edwin prepares for Autumn 2011 with a new top-tier collection – “The Overworks Factory.”  ”The Overworks Factory collection has been designed and developed with the early 20th Century aesthetic that helped shape early Edwin designs… Each piece in the collection comes from a particular era and would have had a specific usage. The fabrics used are being exclusively woven with the Nihon Menpu Japanese Mill, using low-tension and heavy 0z materials and old sewing machines. Denim is made the original way, utilizing non-sanforized, non-skew, non-singed shuttle denims which shrink from rigid. ” Note as they said: shrink to fit.

You know winter’s truly here when you can bust out the thick knitwear (and use the phrase ‘bust out’). This Edwin piece is a step outside of their denim clad boundaries   but, surprisingly, it’s a great knit. Orange (or ‘fire’ if you’re Edwin) is a great alternative colour to have, just as versatile as navy if you know what you’re doing in the colour-matching department. (Flatspot)

Fashion Week continues to roll through Berlin. Edwin is of course in town showing their Spring 2011 looks. We pulled these styled looks. Workwear looks are mixed with proper varsity outers… and of course their denim. True Japan Selvedge is being pushed. Edwin is a great alternative to some of the more difficult of small run Japan denim labels.

This is the not first time we’ve featured the Edwin Spring 2010 collection (see here) but this photoshoot from FUSS points out some of the key street friendly styles from the collection. While it is not a complete views of the collection, it does style the model in a way which allows you to decide if the collection if for you or not.

While most collaborations seem like a desperate cash grab or a vanity project designed so someone can see their name on a product, others just make sense. Edwin and Folk’s collaboration was the latter. We quizzed Edwin’s Rey Gaultier and Folk’s Cathal McAteer about how the project came together and their thoughts about collaborating, heritage becoming a buzzword and their respective strengths.

One of the highlights of Bread and Butter was Edwin’s SS10 collection and we can give you a tiny preview of what’s to come. To no ones surprise, denim makes an appearance in this collection – but we can also show you a couple of non-denim pieces that’ll make you realise just why we liked this collection so much.

After the leap is a couple of more pictures to prove that Edwin are cookin’ up some marvelous ish to get your mouth watering.

We know you’ve probably seen a thousand denim shirts by now but bear with us – this one is (slightly) different. First off, the fade is in between the usual light or dark washes we see on shirts, making this an useful addition to your wardrobe should you have either of those washes already.
